Legally can't make you get out without a proper eviction notice signed by the courts. Doesn't matter if you don't pay for any bills, you've lived there for assumingly years, that's considered your residence. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, you can most certainly do the same. And I had friends in town, but none of them extended an offer to me. Guess how many of those friends I still speak with?

I bailed out of town to look for additional work when I realized that there was literally no reason to stay (no job + no REAL friends = no reason to stick around). Went to a town with a lower cost of living, but small industry. Got a job at a shot peening facility for 9 dollars per hour while I started saving and kept looking.

It was miserable, but, shy of the 6 months of eating nothing but ramen noodles (I can't even stand the smell of that shit without dry heaving anymore), I could do it again.

On my 18th birthday, my mom got me literally nothing. Instead, I woke up with my bags already packed. She took me to a shitty motel, paid for a week, and left me there. And that was how I 'moved' out of the house.

Ended up being homeless for 3 years. She still thinks she did nothing wrong.

If you want your kids to move out, fine, encourage them to move out. Maybe help them look for a job if that's what it takes. Then wait until they have enough money and are financially secure enough to support themselves. But don't just leave them on the side of a road, shrug and walk away. That's complete abandonment and it's a really shitty thing to do and frankly I'm still kinda mad about it.

Yep this. My mom use to use me for money and it was pay up pay more or get out. She knew how to set it just enough to try and exploit me to keep me that way since I didn't have any other options. She didn't give a shit about me or if I could support myself it was about taking everything she could and fuck you if you can't.
