I'm 2'' shorter than my dad (well maybe 1.5'' nowadays he might've lost some height at age 48)

I blame my 5'2.5'' mom for that. Her side of the family is all manlets while my dad's side has none. I'm 6'2.5'' and so is my little brother and my little sister is 5'8''

Honestly my family is strange. Both my parents are around 5'8, but I'm 6'1, my sister is 5'11, and my youngest sister is on the path to being around our height too. Not sure what went right/wrong, but I'm not complaining.
