Was he right ?
I feel like it was my decision to not have any friends .
I think it just means more than any value attributed to anything is only there because other people exist to back it up
as in life would be pointless without society, society makes life
if you have "no friends" that's not relevant since you live in contact with other humans one way or another and so you're choosing to live
The fact that you come here to socialize and talk with like minded others proves him correct, yes
Isolation breeds insanity

Wasn't Aristotle a lowly, worthless neet?

>you come here to socialize
You can't socialize on an anonymous image board

He lived in a different time where having friends was more essential.
We have technology now. He could never have foreseen what society would look like at this point.

No he was the normiest philosopher ever
>>34722301
Aristotle specifically stated "friends".
We aren't friends. He is objectively wrong. You're moving the goal posts.
>>34722346
you 100% can
source: any definition of the word socialize from any major dictionary
"/r9k/ users are amongst the most virtuous people on this planet" -Aristotle

>friend: a person who is not an enemy or opponent; an ally
we are all robots
So you guys think you all are friends 'cause you post on the same /board/ and identify as robots ?
>>34722270
Exactly. Like the movie cast away, the character only lives for the hope of recuse... If there was no hope he's end it. We are social animals
>>34722475
What? No, we're all friends because we all get together on the weekends and chat in person.
Didn't you know? Don't you come along? Oh, anon...

Stop torturing me. I want to enjoy having friends and making friends like other people. But i can't.
