Ordinary people who spent their entire lives working jobs usually have consciousnesses that have evolved to be a "job-working guy" and not much else. They know how to do basic things and they have a lot of practical knowledge, but you'd be surprised at how little flexibility they have in terms of thinking abstractly about philosophy and shit.

That's why it's so tragic.

I used to have fights like that with my parents and I used to treat them like shit, because it was so frustrating that they were just bashing me over the head with what felt like retarded statements, while I was trying to be smart and argue with complex autismo logic. In hindsight, I realize they were just trying their best.
