As a woman, the thing is, dabbling in an activity feels fucking GREAT. When you're a man, dabbling is this mixture of pleasure and pain, because while you're learning a new activity, you're also being rebuffed from it in a lot of ways. But in the short term, women can basically be tourists in anything they like, and not feel bad for being tourists - they don't have the angst or guilt of only superficially sampling something. They don't know what "superficial" means. "Sampling" is equivalent to "experiencing" or "mastering" for a woman.

Women simply do not feel bad AT ALL to try out some sport for 15 minutes, fuck it up badly, take a few pictures of themselves doing it, and then claim "I love [sport] :)" for the rest of their lives. That's what they think the entire sport is - 15 minutes of fun-fun hehe I fell down lol XD! selfie time.
