our society is spiritually dead and at this point we're all just waiting for it to collapse and die
there is some underlying consciousness in a nation and right now it's shattered broken into bits
everybody knows on some unconscious level that something is very wrong with this picture, we are richer and more comfortable than ever before in history and yet there is a grand dysfunction
that's why drug addiction rates are up, suicide rates are up, that's why millions upon millions of people spend their time doing whatever it takes to escape the bare reality that we are fucked and nobody is going to save us
the institution of marriage is all but destroyed, our glitzy materialistic culture is superficial, our families are broken, our sense of identity is broken, we live only for petty material things, we have cast God along the wayside, and these things are only part of the picture.
the only glimmer of hope we have is that someday out of the intense pain and turmoil that lies ahead of us something better will rise out of the ashes
but even that's unlikely, history has a way of repeating itself again, and again, and again
