This gives me nostalgia.

Had a friend I met on Steam. We were friends for years, really close, but he ended up betraying me. I'd dare say almost like the brother I never had. Sure he had some issues which is common for people on Steam, but you think you can trust someone.

Then I met someone else who was really against betrayal and all that. Whole time he would speak about how people are fake and you can't trust anyone while being the exact person he claimed to hate. He was the one that was the problem. The one that went behind my back and told everyone he knew about my personal life.

It's understandable because he has a sad life and never accomplished anything so he tries to find ways to cause other people pain to make himself feel powerful meanwhile being a coward in real life. It's weird when you think about it. You try to bring other people down because you're a failure instead of being a true friend and working on yourself so you wouldn't be in this situation to begin with.

I don't know... Never understood it. I don't know how someone can willingly cause pain to someone else. For what? Does it make you feel better? It's sad the people you meet online.

There are plenty of reasons why they did it anon. Everyone is different so the circumstances depends around the person. I would say one of the causes is self gratification since they have no purpose in life. So one way to get that gratification is to put down others. They see it causes stress and anxiety to the person so they think they can control a person for that moment with fear or other stuff.
This is why kids bully each other in school because most of the time the bully has been bullied at home by his parents or some other reason.

I made it clear not to tell others my personal information. Be a human being and do the right thing, but nope. Makes sense what you're saying. He was always jealous due to his own failures. Since he has nothing going in life he wants to bring others down.

My fault for not seeing the signs. He's always been weird. He's a coward, yes, but it goes deeper than that. He seems to have a severe mental illness. Not one that he can't help, but one that he is aware of. Almost like a fetish. He's always been this greasy rat type of person looking back on it. Very manipulative. I'd dare say an evil human being because I can't fathom what goes on in his head to be that type of person. I would never be able to live with myself.

I think I just had a revelation. He always claimed to hate fake people but was one. He refuses to tell anyone his first name, as if anyone cares, but it's not to even be anonymous because all of his accounts link together and he's desperate for attention on all of them. He'd even use a voice changer when speaking to people for some reason. Because he didn't want people to hear his real voice? I don't understand.

Can someone explain this to me?
