doesnt matter if your work is shit.

What do you do?
Has it helped you feel less alone?
wanna share something?

I make shitty small videogames and put em on newgrounds. its fun but its going nowhere imo

wanted to write a book since i was 10 but never dared to try it, fearing it would be shit.

I see lots of beautiful images in my mind all the time and I am constantly escaping to fantasy worlds. I can't describe them though, and I can't draw or create them.

I pour hundreds if not thousands of hours into Hearts of Iron and Europa Universalis.

I create alternate history in those games, once i'm done, i'll write up a big report on how it'd affect the course of history and ultimately change the future.

I do this shit all the time. It's a habit; I have to do it.
>>
>>34662063
wow.

like the alternate history youtube channel?

maybe you could write an episode for them
>>
thats cool op, do you feel like posting any of your games

i make beats some but most of them are shit and i have like 5 hours of them lol. its fun to listen to them just because o made tgem

>>
>>34662120
sry, i cant really. I am working with a few people who would really go crazy if they found out i was on 4chan.

some of the games i made are pretty well recieved, but its nothing fancy ^^
>>
>>34662106
That's a good idea.

I've been going at it for two or three years now, still raging on strong. I kind of get a kick out of it, really exercises your brain because you have to then build up a series of events which stem from the base, which then opens up even more "what-ifs".

It'll take me a month or two to finish depending on the complexity of the scenario.
>>
>>34662160
>who would really go crazy if they found out i was on 4chan.
So they are tumblrtards aren't they?
>>
>>34662184

but yes, i guess some of them are on tumblr
>>

>>

dude, they are just people who believe in different stuff than you do.
like hell, to many of you i would be a sjw as well.

go outside ffs
>>
>>34662338
Not when it comes to art mate. When you want to make art you have to make what you want. If someone says "Umm...I don't think the girl should have no clothes in this scene because that's incredibly misogynistic" they are actively destroying your art.
>>
>>34662377
thing is, that has never happened.

a lot of really great sex games are made by "sjw" devs.

lots of stuff that happen in the industry are really aimed towards infantile virgins, so i can understand why ppl complain about tracers ass etc.

but captcha is making me solve like 20 captchas per post, so ill stop speaking for a while
>>
>>34662436
Fair enough, like I said maybe they aren't holding you back but they would be holding me back. I think if you are making art you should work with like-minded individuals. Not that someone can't criticize you but you should recognize when someone is criticizing you and when they just don't like what you are making at all.

>What do you do?
I make music, draw, and make shitty video games.
Right now I'm working on a game for a world I've been creating in my mind since high school. Its never going to get finished.
I'm also making a website that's like 4chan, but completely text. I'm teaching myself how to do it as I go.

>Has it helped you feel less alone?
Yeah, but I'm lazy. I get short spurts of energy where I do a lot of work on my projects, then I hit a wall and I just quit for a few weeks. Its a cycle I need to get out of. It is a good distraction from reality when I do work, though, and I like it.

I, also, make shitty video games / computer art. Been doing this for about 3 years, before that I would just study programming and make shitty apps.

I think any kind of output is awesome - most people spend all this time ingesting content (reading, watching, listening) and never create anything. Its worthless.
>>

>>

All I'm saying is if you telling them you use 4chan would damage your relationship then something's up. Most people would just say "Uh, okay." if they found out but this sounds like they would get mad at you. That just seems like you guys have different philosophies.

i'd love to make instrumentals or beats, putting emotion and love into it where the common listener can 'feel it', y'know?

I make really bad music. I think it makes me feel worse since I can never really make anything that I'm truly happy with.

I've made a couple over the last 3 months that I don't completely hate so that's something I guess. I think part of the problem is I drop songs really fast if I'm not feeling it.

Maybe I should get some way to record my guitar so I can try to make something along the lines of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

I have intrusive thoughts from OCD almost constantly. They are extremely creative, regardless of where I am or what I'm doing. Every psychologist or psychiatrist I've been to commented on my imagination.

I like to write. I proofread and quality control professionally because I have such a knack for it, but I'd never write professionally because all I write about is violent, self-indulgent garbage.

I like to draw but am an amateur for the same reasons as above. Lately I've exchanged some stuff on swapdoodle and while I've gotten nothing but praise I still cringe at every drawing I send immediately afterwards.

I would love to get better at the violin, but I make excuses constantly and probably don't have the level of dedication needed to really become proficient.

The concept is nice and the first page is very well written, but the second leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. The ending is weak and your message is lost in your projection. Rather than have the customer outright state that the experience is authentic, why don't you show your readers that it is? Why not just leave off with the prostitute going out with her "girlfriends?"
>>

>Rather than have the customer outright state that the experience is authentic, why don't you show your readers that it is? Why not just leave off with the prostitute going out with her "girlfriends?"
I was worried that leaving it at that wouldn't be an effective punchline.
I'm having trouble working out if the girl leaving is clear enough to stand on it's own or if it needs a separate punchline or follow-up scene.

It's something that I really need to nail in the second draft.

anon, something similar happened to me one time, except all waitresses gathered around him, purring like the cats in heat they are, then they stripped him naked and start to lick him all over while furiously rubbing themselves, the best girl then went on top of him and start bouncing up and down fast and hard, he didn't have to move, they were so eager to please him, 4 other waitresses started to take care of his Greek god like nipples, ass and tremendous balls, everyone eating there just looked in amazement and accepting the need for the god of masculinity in getting his deserving release and that no waitresses can resist the presence of such masculine figure, in fact my chad friend was so chad, when the diner's manager came out to inspect the commotion, he went right up to my friend, pushed the top waitress away and started giving a passionate deepthroat himself, the waitresses seeing him as a competition quickly start to violently attacking him, but he wouldn't let go, so much was the attraction toward the chad, as the manager was finally being pulled apart from limb to limb, the chad pushed him away and picked up nearest waitress and shove his manly rod deep into her crevice and explode into her cervix, for no chad's seed shall go wasted. As he ejaculated, the waitresses and the customers were caught in a trance of ecstasy because the pleasure that a chad feels resonates with universe itself. What followed was a joy filled round of applause from everyone in the diner and passerby on the street. The waitress who had the chance of being impregnate by the manly god was in tears and everyone felt sincere happiness for her.

From that day on, I've never dined with my chad friend again.

This is an original content that I wrote a few hours ago in response to an anon saying he went to have lunch with his chad friend and ended up waiting 30 min at the table while the chad friend banged a waitress in the bathroom.

I do this most often as I'm trying to fall asleep. I imagine my fantasy world pretty aggressively so that my mind doesn't have the capability to think about my real shitty life and I can drift off to sleep dreaming about fantastic heroes, etc.
I also imagine creative shit like this sometimes at work or in overwhelming social situations where I just need to retreat and recharge before interacting with real people.

When I was a teenager I was able to write decent stories with at least passable characterization and good description/narrative. I probably could have developed it.

But becoming an adult robbed me, I have no clue what happened. Its just gone. I cant build a compelling character or create imagery.

Im a Paramedic and I work a ton. Between morning coffee and sleepless nights I experience a fair bit of adrenal fatigue. Maybe thats whats doing it.

Or maybe reality just quashed whatever I had. Maybe negativity and pessimism hinders the process.

The learning curve is high, but I recommend it for those who want a social life with all the convenience of McDonalds, and as similarly fulfilling. And you can make a hobby of luring home princesses and talk them out of their clothes...

I draw comics full-time for an American publisher. Which basically means I sit at my drawing table all day every day of the week, at crazy hours most of the time too. Shit is intense and exhausting

oh then im obligated to tell you that people are like angry or whatever about underrepresentation of queer stuff in comics
>>
>>34670952
Did you draw that? Can you post some drawings you do?

ME TOO MAN

I also draw occasionally, used to be #1 hobby but now music is where it's at. Just easier for me and less frustrating

No shit. I don't really care for that stuff because I'm just a white dude but they should probably stop reading mainstream comics if they're looking for proper representation that isn't forced or an editorial mandate

>>34671076
Lel no, that's an edit of Dave Gibbon's Watchmen work. Here's a recent page I did, without the final letters and colours

Maybe I am
But I think it's just more apathy
I just don't feel much anymore
Except for the sadness I got from writing that
I don't think this is depression though
I'm just a lazy sack of shit
