I take pills. I don't tell anyone about it and most of them are ordered from India, the only ones I get from a doctor are the Adderall and wellbutrin because they're harder to find. If you feel like you need drugs it's worth the effort. I used to stress about my blood pressure, but now I don't even think about it. 40mg Telmisartan and a baby aspirin every day. Doctors are really just gatekeepers to prevent people from accessing medical care. Fortunately the Internet has undermined a lot of their power, the only barrier left is drug laws and we'll hopefully see prohibition ended soon. If you can read you can fix 99% of your medical problems. If you do see a doctor look for a DO, they're much better than MDs. The DOs are the ones who want to promote health and help people, pretty much the polar opposite of MDs.
