Is anyone else here kind of stupid, or is it just me?
>suck at math, best i can do is very basic algebra. probably couldn't even do long division anymore if i tried
>love to read classic literature, but when books get deep and meaningful, i fail to fully comprehend what author is trying to say
>know basics of politics, but don't understand more complicated aspects of it
>know basically nothing about economy or how it works
>unable to mentally manipulate women in order to get what i want from them
>know nothing about science
>religion and philosophy confuse the fuck out of me
>know very little about other cultures
>can into mechanics or anything about tools and the like, so would pretty much fail at being a handy-man
>basically know nothing about how or why the world works
Its a bad feel.
>>
>>34626477
Being conscious of your stupidity probably means you aren't as dumb as you think you are.

Most legitimately stupid people think they are smart, funnily enough.
>>
I feel the same way bro. Have to get my GED soon and I'm worried about it. Can't seem to study and I miss details when I do.
>>
>>34626477
You seemed like a nice cool guy until
>>unable to mentally manipulate women in order to get what i want from them
Not sure if I should help you or not. Making you a smart asshole will just ruin the people and the world around you.
>>
>>34626573
I didn't really mean the manipulate women thing in an asshole sort of way. i used that example just to tell of how i can't really read people, or have meaningful conversation with them to get them to open up to me so we can build a relationship. all of these guys i see who are so good with women must have some sort of intelligence or awareness that i lack. just saying it would be nice to be able to use knowledge to attract people, or get them to like me enough to share their existence with me
>>
>>34626477
No I am way smarter than most people.

>people insult you from being dumb but you can't do anything to stop being one

Why nobody gets it
>>
You don't seem stupid to me, OP. Just kind of uninformed and a little self-deprecating.

You actually seem like the kind of guy I would really enjoy teaching stuff to.

>>
>>34626655
Oh, I got it.
>all of these guys i see who are so good with women must have some sort of intelligence or awareness that i lack.
High emotional intelligence, but this kind of shit can become better with practice by thinking about what would you do in a X situation that you could be there.

Okay, gonna help you:

If you really want to start learning, like, I REALLY WANT TO FUCKING LEARN RIGHT NOW, then you should start by reading the /sci/ sticky if you want to learn about Math and Science at college level.
But if you want to start from Mid or High School, then Khan Academy must be first and then you can read the /sci/ sticky or /g/ sticky if you want to learn programming, Linux, etc.

If you want to read literature, there's /lit/ right here on this site, they have a sticky as well but you gotta start learning what words that you don't know mean, since some words have multiple meanings depending on the context, you gotta be careful.

>politics
Start reading about the Democrat and Republican party first, read on what they stand for and read what that means, like start googling what Authoritarianism means Libertarianism, Liberalism, Communism, Fasicism, Capitalism, etc.
There's NO WAY that one will be 100% Libertarian for example, many people have some different views on some topics about the world, so read WIkipedia about politics.

>Economy
Same as politics.
Economics is a social science with a bit of Math once you get into the real shit, but you can start first with Khan Academy as well.

>knowing women
I actually don't have an answer for this well, but just google your questions, maybe somebody somewhere has the same problem just like you.

>religion and philosophy
Read wikipedia and learn about the "sub-types" of Christianism, Islam, etc.
For example, start learning the difference between Shia and Sunnah(?) Islam.

>Other cultures
On what specifically?
>Mechanics
DOn't know this part, I just read wikihow on some shit on how to fix X, but nothing more.
>>
>>34626685
Yes you do.
>>34626520
You can do it, Anon.

Did you had a nice guide with you or some good teachers?
>>
>>34626800
thanks for the advice, my friend. i'm going to look into this khan academy that you speak of. i have never even heard of it. i'm already 22, and just tired of feeling like an uniformed idiot who can't talk to people about or think about things that have actual importance.
>>
>>34626864
Oh boy, you're going for a nice full ride of education.

They got plenty of things to learn there: Math, Physics, Economics, History, etc.
And it's totally free so, depending if you like science a lot, like Chemistry, CS, Physics, etc. You will be able to read the great /sci/ sticky.

Just start learning, if you really want to, you will.
And that includes everybody here that thinks they're "stupid".
>>
>>34626685
Stop being a brainlet

Originalo
>>
>>34626477
Aren't you just lazy? I mean most of that summation just seems just like a void of knowledge rather than misunderstanding a lot of things due to stupidity.

Name something specific you really just couldn't figure out.
>>
>>34626800
>/sci/
>having anything to do with actual science

kek, I bet you think calculus II is advanced mathematics too
>>
>>34626477

The fact that you are even contemplating these things makes you smarter than the average joe.

And really dumb people go through their lives without ever thinking about it, they might even in some cases be happier than most people.
>>
I haven't read a novel in my entire life,I kind of just get confused and can't picture things, I'm 16 and it's stressing me out

>"nothing is impossible"
>try my hardest to focus my chi and charge an energy blast with my hands
>absolutely impossible

Yeah man , I failed 11th grade and I was a humanities student so I hear you
>>
>>34626477
Knowing you are stupid is a sign of intelligence. Dumb people are very often affected by the Dunning-Kruger effect. I guarantee with some education (even if just self-directed in your spare time) in any topic you are interested in you could learn a lot and excel. Books or classes are your friends. You can use special interest forums to get book suggestions to increase your knowledge on aspects of the world that you are curious about. Learning is fun. Good luck man.
>>
>>34630038
....or he's just stupid

Not everyone is secretly talented, intelligent or otherwise gifted. If you consistently underperform it's a reasonable assumption that you are of below average intelligence
>>
>>34626477
>mentally manipulate women in order to get what i want from them

Grade A asshole/manipulative douchebag here. What do you need help understanding friendo?
>>

I know I should be REEEing now and be angry at you and stuff, but I'm glad for yoz man. I used to be like you as well.

Then I developed a drug habit, smoked weed almost daily, took a lot of speed and mdma in my quest to become a normie.
It will take a while to get smart again.

Don't ever fall for the drugs meme, man. If youre fucking smart, you are above other people. Drugs will not make you a normie, only stupider robot.
>>
>>34630770
Tbh I've considered smoking weed more, especially as I have friends who do

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind

Didn't know speed and MDMA make you retarded
>>
>>34626477
It's definitely not me...

It's you...

It appears you were born with a condition known as 'Stupidity'
>>
>>34630770
>>34630794
Former over-acheiver here to confirm this. I was constantly put in "accelerated learning" classes and praised for intelligence throughout childhood and adolescence, got really into drugs around 16 (still an now) and have destroyed my intellect along with my memory. I work at a Dominos and get fucking confused or overwhelmed sometimes, especially if I've been doing too much speed lately. Even drugs that can genuinely increase productivity and energy have shit effects in the long-run.
>>
>>34630963
From a quick google search it seems that the effects of speed are at least partially reversible, so you would regain some memory and intelligence if you quit even if you never go back to normal

Then again it's highly addictive so you won't actually quit
>>
I'll give you the lowdown on economics:

Every single good and service produced is the economy. To make that easier to comprehend, economists use the market (how much they're sold for) currency value of all of those goods/services.

currency itself (euro, pound, dollar, etc.) is just an easy and transportable way for people to store the goods/services they've produced, other than that it means nothing.

The more goods and services that are produced over a year, the better off the people with access to those goods and services will be (if you have more food, more games, more porn, etc., you're therefore happier right?)

Government taxes some of those goods and services produced, which decreases the incentive to produce more of them, which means less stuff produced and less overall happiness for everyone.

The government is basically a corporation with a monopoly on physical violence, thus it charges people tax in exchange for both not initiating violence and stopping others from initiating violence.

If you have any questions, if I've missed something important, feel free to respond.
>>
>>34626477
>encouraging circlejerking over stupidity
>baiting people with positive social reinforcement into believing that they're dumber than they are

This is exactly the same as excluding nerds in middle school except it's carrot instead of stick. Stop doing this shit, you know why you're doing it.
>>
>>34631573
I made government sound a little too evil accidentally. Since the advent of the social contract (contract between man and government, whereby man relinquishes some of his property (money) in exchange for the rewards of pooled civic development) and universal democracy, government is probably at or near its fairest potential.

It's not only a monopoly on violence but a sort of hedge fund, where everyone pools money and more total wealth and utility (happiness) is created than if the funds were merely used by each individual.
