Why the fuck are there so many unknown numbers?

Every time I've answered unknown calls it's someone acting creepy. So now make unknown numbers go straight to voicemail which I never check. One time someone called my house phone and said my name super slowly "anooooooon anon anooon annnnooooon is anon there pick up the phone" It creeps me the fuck out. I don't find it funny.

Theyre all in my city too which is pretty small so it scares me sometimes.

Anyone find phones scary?
I don't own a phone, and I hate it when the homephone in my house goes off (I never answer it, let my parents do that). There's just something weird about them.
I even got a horror vibe from hotline miami when I first played it because of the spooky phone messages.
