Needles and anything medical in general gets to me. If it's happening to me. I'm really good at treating wounds and taking care of people (mom went through 2 bouts of cancer, girlfriend had wisdom teeth out etc.) and it never bothers me to change bandages or look at surgery scars.

Sounds like you don't really maintain your brain as you should so it can only take primal instincts of survival, as soon as you started reading something more complex it got a lot harder. People don't realize that they should train their brain same as they need to train their body if they want to be in good shape.
