Tomorrow I'm going to the local animal shelter to pick up a puppy or a kitten. Which one makes the better pet for an autistic robot? Which one should I choose?
Get a cat if you are a lonely virgin.

You don't need to give cats much attention, so thats a plus.
Dog all the way. Cats are fine but dogs are the best for that kind of thing.

Easily a cat, man. Dogs are the ultimate normie pet.
Both puppies and kittens are GIANT pains in the ass, though, so I'd just recommend getting an adult cat. I got a seven-year-old cat once, and he was so well-behaved and calm. He was also free, on account of him being old. Best pet I ever had.
They're both nice pets. Cats tend to keep pests away and you don't have to walk them, but you have to clean up a litter box. Dogs offer protection from niggers and you don't have to clean up a litter box with them, but you do have to walk them.

Dog, plus it forces you to get out of the house and take a walk once a day.
Get a cat if you might be moving out in the future though, most apartments/room rentals wont allow dogs but are fine with cats. Plus you dont have to he giving a cat attention all the time which is kind of nice, you dont feel like you're neglecting it if you just play video games all day.

how long did it live?

Forever. Had another eleven years in him.

A cat better suits the robot lifestyle, a dog requires walking regularly so you'd have to go outside with it.
