My stats are
5'6 SW:212 CW:204 GW:160 (150 as secondary goal)

I started on Jan 9th and have so far dropped 8 pounds, already noticing things like stomach being smaller and not chaffing as bad when walking, started doing dumbell exercises on a 3 day split at home and walking from work to home every day (15 mins or there abouts) I power walked at first to get a sweat on but now I walk half then full throttle sprint for a good minute at random intervals just to keep my heart pumping fast. I really feel like the first time in my life im going to make it. Going to start the gym after dropping around 2 stone or 28 pounds and then try to build some muscle.


Question for fatty to nattys, how did you deal with loose skin? Im worried because im short my skin wont go back to normal. I mean its not a problem because I did this to myself and should have to live with the consequences just wondering if you have any tips to reduce sag.

I was drinking over 2k calories of alcohol alone no matter what I drank. I drank all day and night. Doesn't matter if I drank 5.5% beer, liquor with diet soda or malt liquor ... I knew my limits and drank until I reached that limit and stayed there for hours until either I ran out or it was getting late. I'd usually stop drinking 2-3 hours before bed. I'd stop drinking, eat around 1k calories worth of actual food, take my vitamins and drink plenty of water. Never had a hangover. What I'd typically drink is 3-4 40oz of OE malt liquor since gas station is closer. A little over 700 calories each 40oz. If I drank beer, I'd get 2x 6packs of 16oz Bud Ice. 160 calories per beer. Liquor, about the same. I'd drink a little more than half a 1.75L bottle of liquor. Yes, I drink the cheapest shit with highest alcohol. No natty ice at the gas stations around here, just natty light.

If you have a step in your house, walk up and down that over and over while listening to something really intense, like power metal or extremely fast electronic music. I've "quit" several times. I have a prescription for benzos and beta blockers and had a little reserve after missing doses or only taking half a dose over the years. They helped me every time I wanted to quit and had minimal withdrawals. Withdrawals are gone usually gone with 3-5 days. Every time I quit, I'm up to around 300 pounds with a fatty liver. I may have to quit for good this time unless I want to die a painful death from liver failure. No way I'm ever getting a liver transplant nor would I want one, it would be a waste. Addiction sucks, especially when you use drugs to self medicate because pharmaceuticals don't work or are complete hell. I plan on tapering off the benzos too soon. I think that's going to be the hardest, read a lot of bad shit about withdrawals of that but I'm not taking that high of a dose.

Spend about $20-40 on some dumbbells. Plenty of exercises you can do. Don't worry too much about cardio. Even just walking around the block for an hour straight would be good. Once you trim down a bit you can add in some bodyweight shit and not hurt yourself. The main thing to weightloss is diet. Just avoid obvious shit like sodas, ice cream, chips, etc. Try to eat enough protein to minimize muscle loss. Just eat well and spend 30 minutes every two days lifting those dumbbells. 3 sets 10 reps is what's usually good. Make sure you get enough weight to where you can barely get 10 reps in. Usually 15lbs is a good start. Although you will be losing fat, you will gain some noob strength and should be able to move up weight eventually, if you want or just do more reps if you're that cheap.

you should consider a fitbit.

I got a fitbit HR for Christmas, it tracks heart rate, exercise, steps taken, etc. I would've never bought one with my own money, but it's actually been a great weight loss tool.

I lost roughly 7lbs in January entirely because the fitbit tracks almost exactly the amount of calories I burn during the day (something like 75-80% accuracy) and puts it all in fancy little graphs, so I can just budget my food intake with whatever I feel like eating. It makes calorie counting retardedly easy.

It keeps me from over eating shit like I used to, but I can still eat shit like a whole frozen pizza for dinner, because I've already budgeted the ~880 calories into my daily limit and know exactly how much under or over it will put me. Works much better than when I just tried to eat healthier foods and ended up just overeating on yogurt and fruit.

My problem was smoking weed and then having awful munchies, going out to mcdonalds and binging. Now that I've got my munchies under control, Im doing well.

depends on how cold it is where you are, coldest I've biked in is -15c.

It's important to remember that when you're biking, you're inherently creating windchill equal to whatever speed you're going, so whatever you wear to keep warm normally you're going to have to increase.

wear warm gloves

wear a hat

wear something with a hood to minimize windchill on your face & ears

if it's really cold, consider wearing a hoodie under your coat or even 2 coats. 2 coats + cardio you will be warm as fuck even in really cold weather.

your legs will be the coldest part of your body so get some thermals and/or insulated pants.

once you get into the rhythm of the exercise, and you're bundled up properly, you won't feel cold. all the body heat from the cardio will have your body temp. high, and the excess heat will be sent naturally to your legs/arms/etc. keeping you relatively toasty.

I'd honestly recommend the HR simply because by keeping track of heart rate it can actually keep track of and estimate calories burned on a day to day without manual input. It will know you got 15 minutes of cardio at 4:05pm and increase your calories burned accordingly.

most of the models are designed for people into sports and exercise in general, like the one made specifically for bikes, so a low effort general use one like the HR is best if you're just counting calories.

Stopped eating fast food, unhealthy snacks, sweets and sweetened drinks 1,5 week ago. I know it's not much, but already I'm seeing some difference.

I hate how slowly I'm losing weight. If I stick to my paleomeme diet 100% I will maybe loose 1kg (2.2lbs) every two weeks.

I want to go from 67kg (147,4lb) to 58 (127,8lb). It will take so much time, fuck, I am already hating that thought.

But at the same time controlling what I eat gives me a sense of control over my life, so that's good.

I still only stick to my diet 80/20, I will sometimes eat something with gluten/a high carb meal.

I'm kinda proud of my body though, since I really just stopped eating everything I mentioned above and I don't even feel that tempted when my diet is well balanced.

I had a bunch of setbacks like that too, that attitude of 'fuck it' was all habit and addiction for me. It was fucking hard at the beginning but every week I forcibly put down the cake was a week closer to creating new habits.

I always kept in mind I was trying to overcome 21 years of fucking horrific eating, so of course it felt like shit but as I cemented one healthy habit after another, one week at a time, it was a snowball effect that got easier the longer I held out. If you can smash a month I'd say you've got it in you too.

Somewhere along the line I got in to thai kickboxing and the idea of competing keeps me in gear too, so the sport / competitive angle is good motivation
