My HS gf was hella mad once and started to hit me while I was carrying something and had my hands busy. I was using my arm to block what I could and when she got a clean hit on my head I instinctively reacted and countered with an elbow to the nose. Sad part is that I felt like shit for it.

In retrospective I was lucky I didn't break her nose, even tho I always manage to pull my punches.
