You people do realize that we wouldn't have anywhere near the immigrant population that we do now if everybody followed the exact legal immigration process down to the letter, right? Besides, Trump and the right's policies are only stopping illegals on the surface, and the "We only have a problem with ILLEGAL immigrants" statement is just an excuse; at the root of it, they don't want anybody foreign coming in, legal, illegal, or otherwise.

They have a preconceived notion of what an 'American' is, and think foreigners muddy that idea, so they scapegoat them as evil people or terrorists or job stealers, and waste literally billions of tax payer dollars fighting a minor, barely consequential problem, when we have a laundry list of much more pressing issues.
