For years I thought I hated carpentry type work. Turns out I don't hate it, I just thought I did because of an association made during my childhood.

My dad was a carpenter. I used to work for him sometimes during summers off school. Absolutely hated it. But it wasn't the work that was the problem. Dad had shit taste in music. Pop country. Saccharine, southern accent accentuated, shit-tier, bottom drawer, mass produced by committee, pop country. He played it every day. Played it LOUD AS FUCK so he could still hear it over all the hammering and sawing.

10 hours a day of listening to that shit drove me insane. To this day every time I hear country music I smell sawdust.
