I mean these are probably the same people who love video games right? I mean I do too, don't get me wrong. Play them too much, in fact. But they do realize that sports are LITERALLY just games being played at a high level? I mean, most vidya players would enjoy that kind of thing right? I mean it's fine if you don't like watching them, but don't be an ass about it.

People like rooting for where they're from. Understandable. If someone grew up in Memphis watching the Grizzlies and playing basketball when they were young, then it makes sense that they'd be a fan because they'd have an attachment to the team. It's like a symbol of where they're from, and no matter if the fan moves to other places in life away from Memphis, the Grizzles are always there to be watched and for the fan to cheer for. I think that's pretty cool.

Some people like teams because they employ a playstyle that the person is a fan of, or something like that. People love talking about tactics teams use and stuff like that, which I think is really fun to do myself.

Anyway if you like esports/vidya and think sports are awful or vice versa, you're a hypocrite to me, since they're WAY more similar than people thing
