I've never gotten the point of a shooting. I guess some want others to feel the pain and/or rejection they have felt, but people don't feel pain or rejection when they are dead. Most go into shock instantly and don't even realize they are dying rapidly of blood loss.

I guess there's making others feel pain in the sense of loss, but the loss of a loved one is not comparable to the pain of having never felt loved. After all, the beauty of loss is that someone felt that person was beautiful while the shooter experiences the pain that no one found them beautiful.

Then there's the idea of going down in history, but at this point every shooter goes down in most people's books at shooter number *insert random number*. They are so common now that it's not anything spectacular. You see it in the news and you are just like, "Oh, look, another shooting has happened, moment of silence, move on with our lives, glad it wasn't me."
