For me it had way more to do with dosage than type. Once you go over a certain threshold the high isn't pleasant anymore and just becomes an ordeal. I'd recommend OP to try different amounts/get high incrementally so he can find out what hits the spot for him. People have different tolerances/reactions, so what works for your friends might not work for you.

this desu. I found that I have a very very very low threshold, and if I go over it, I feel miserably anxious. If I smoke a joint, I stop after one smallish hit. If I use a bong or pipe, same thing, very small hit. Vapes give me much more control over the precision of the hit and the temperature (depending on the vape) so I definitely prefer those.

For the first few times I tried smoking weed, I thought I had to smoke a bunch or else I was a pussy, and I would just get horrifically anxious and suicidal... so I didn't touch weed for years until I tried a vaporizer again, and then I just took a little tiny bit and it was way more enjoyable.

What kinda vaporizer did your friend leave?
