Had a similar experience when I set up an OKcupid awhile ago. The women in my area were atrocious, 7/10 were overweight to obese, and the remaining split between single mothers and moderately attractive women. I had to dig to find someone I could describe as 'hot,' and needless to say I gave up on the site immediately. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to have any success on there.
