It's because a lot of modern art tends to be absolute dogshit and modern artists, while a lot of them are undoubtedly skilled, tend to be complete sacks of shit. I can't think of a single well known artist today that isn't either a pseudo intellectual prick or a condescending limp-wristed cuck.

Culture changes. Painting is no longer the only visual medium. There are videogames with beautiful, immersive landscapes and innovative artstyles, Okami, Crysis, the Witcher, countless independent works. That's if you ignore cinematography and photography, digital art, et cetera. Being a traditionally trained artist with a paintbrush and easel simply isn't as profitable anymore.

Modern art is shit. I had to go into my university's art building for a class once. The sculptures and paintings were utter nonsense, representing nothing. Plus they had tons of pro-trans and anti-Trump shit. They all seem to have their heads up their ass. I hate them, because as a student at the college, my tuition pays that worthless department. As a taxpayer in the state, I also have to pay for those idiots to excrete their nonsense.
