Is it truly better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and feel like I'm drowning in regret because I had love but lost it due to my own mistakes.
>>
>>34481766
No

Also that girl is hot
>>
>>34481766
no, yes if you wanna be more suicidal than you already are
>>
>>34481766

Is it truly better to have eaten a bowl of cereals only once in your lifetime than never to have eaten any?
>>
>>34481983
that's absolute pottery, my dear anon
>>
>>34481983
Also, the cereals will give you diarrhea for two years once you're finished.
>>
>>34481766
It's hard to say

I really want to go back to thinking there does exist a woman out there who'll remind me why I haven't killed myself yet, but I don't want to go through with having that idea completely shattered in the face of reality again.
>>
>>34481766
In my experience, yes
I was in love with a girl in late HS early Uni and ended up dumping her and I was pretty depressed for a while
Overall though I feel the experience made me a better person and taught me how to recognize red flags, as well as teaching me how to really interact with a woman you're in a serious relationship with.
>>
>>34481852
thats a boy

lol
>>
>>34481983
Truly beautiful anon, true pottery
>>
>>34481766
yeah, because it teaches you the warning signs to look out for in the future when finding someone to date. Plus it proves that there is at least some demographic of women interested in you.
>>
>>34481766
Yes if you're a virgin.
No if you're not.
Both groups want this subject in their pity resume and it's ok.
>>
>>34481766
No, god no. Once you've fallen in love you know what you're missing. Just look at /r9k/, how else do you think men become this bitter?
>>
>>34481766
Nope. That's one of the biggest lies ever perpetuated.
>>
>>34483056
>two years

Try three or four.
>>
>>34481766
Absolutely yes anon, because that means you are not too autistic to get loved again.
>>
>>34483443
I won't pretend I know how bad it is to love then lose it, but I've never loved and am incredibly bitter about it.
>>
>>34481766
No. Loving and losing sucks ass.
>>
No. I have loved and lost. And I can tell you that crippling loneliness without knowing what loves is like is more agonising since you long for something you don't understand only for it not to meet those expectations.

So it's like. Is that what I was so miserable over? Kek
>>
>>34484598
having loved and lost is the only way to progress as a social individual and get to your next love
If you've done it once it proves you can love again

>>
>>34484622
Oh. I read OP wrong. In that case yes.
Not knowing what you are missing out on is worse than knowing. Depending on how high or low your expectations are.
>>
>>34481766
No, because loving and losing can often involve IRL consequences like wasting time and money, or her seeking "revenge" against you.

>Loved and loss = negative change
>never loved at all = zero (no change, neutral)
>>
>>34481766
Sometimes, it could be best to leave as is.

Example: You and your childhood love. You were both ~11-14, had the most beautiful time/love in this cosmos, and it was perfect.

>reunite 10 years later

Do you start again? Together 6ever? Or do you leave the perfect, precious, pristine memory in tact and not begin to not taint the childhood memory of innocent love?
>>
>>34485056
But what if you lost it but it was a beautiful time for both, so you're positive that it happened or you were able to experience it / meet them?

Neutral, no? If you don't want to be with them now but you're glad you were :)

You need to listen to me the answer is no. I got the dream. Me and the girl both virgins and we're together for nine years and with no warning she tells it's over one day. No the only time I feel anything other then soul sucking misery and regret is when I'm drunk.
>>
>>34481766
I don't know, it sounds like normie bullshit for the non socially retarded
>>
>>34485154
you have a one night stand and then never contact each other ever again
then you pass her 30 years later in the street and you both make eye contact but you both keep walking

I don't think there is an answer to that question to be completely honest.
