What compels a human being to stand up for someone else's rights?
I mean, I get it if you're friends or they're your family. But why would you support someone you don't even know?
Whenever a SJW talks about the rights of minorities or, hell, whenever someone donates anything to anyone, I think they have ulterior motives. Looking good in other people's eyes being the main one.

did you really only just notice that

All they care about is feeling morally superior, that's literally all it is. Every action from these kinds of people can be explained by this.

In today's society, actions like that are an unholy combination of altruism and egotism. It's still an act out of self-interest while nevertheless complying to what society expects of you.

It's just self-delusional egoism. Humans aren't capable of altruism, and they have no reason to be.
It's called empathy.
Surprisingly not original.
These threads always make me laugh, nothing more hilarious than a dick trying to justify his own bitterness.

What difference would any ulterior motives have if the end result was ultimately the same?
If google donates internet access and laptops to children in Uganda it benefits the children regardless if whether they do it from the kindness of their hearts or to look stylish.
When the Gate's foundation works to improve public health and education in the third world, regardless of the reason, the people ultimately are benefited.

Absolutely none. But people shouldn't try to make it seem like they're doing it out of complete selfishness.

It's called empathy my dude. If your heart is so black that you can't begin to comprehend this than you are hopeless

No one here is acting bitter and saying acts of kindness are inherently a horrible thing. What is being said is that people's interests differ from their actions. An act of helping someone or simply pretending to hold a charitable view can be disguising that person's desire to create a favorable image of themself and nothing else.
