Why is everyone's idea of life like this:
>Be born
>Go to school
>Go to college
>Get a good job
>Get married
>Retire
When it's actually like this:
>Be born
>Go to school
>Go to grad school
>Get a job that doesn't pay enough
>Get supported by your parents
>Get cheated on by roasties
>Get ignored by roasties
>Get depressed
>Move back in with parents
>Can't find a job
>Go back to grad school
>Turn 30 still financially dependent on parents
Maybe the answer is: this society is a nightmare

Because that's how it used to be since a lot of the people who were eligible to go to college way back when actually had a chance. World took a massive shift economically in the 1970s-1990s, and now you have a huge surplus of college grads/students who have basically no hope at ever getting what they went to school for. This is why I hate how much college is shoved down everyone's throats. Unless if you get top marks in college, I suggest you go to trade school, as chances are you'll be ignored in most job searches if you don't have top tier grades.

Not to mention wealth inequality is getting out of hand, you're either born with a good chance or not, since it takes money to make money.
For example my two rich friends and I diverged very early on in terms of life success due to socioeconomic status - sort of like this:
>rich friends get motorbikes in primary school
>I don't get even get a push bike
>rich friends get hooked up with easy well paying jobs in highschool despite having no qualifications
>nothing
>rich friends go to all the excursions/school trips
>nope
>rich friends get cars and their licenses immediately as of becoming age
>not encouraged or even asked to get license, never thought about it, couldn't afford anyway
>rich friends always have the latest gadgetry and nice clothes, enough food
>you guessed it, nada
>rich friends always going to concerts, clubs, normie events, etc.
>I'm always going on 4chan or working my ~15 hour weeks kms
>rich friends very close to having a deposit for a house EACH
>saving up for a phone isn't even on my horizon

Yeah same here. By the time you go "wait a minute" and finally wake up to the reality of what affluent kids got and you didn't, you've already diverged hugely, massively in terms of life experiences

Personally for me I'm used to living a more spartan lifestyle so unless if something is completely totaled I tend to not replace it, which helps quite a lot in terms of money.
IMO wealth inequality can become a little more controlled if people started going to trade schools more and more so there isn't a massive buildup of college people in debt and so people can get good work for good to decent pay. But since our societies for some reason demonize that kind of thing and have a stigma that if you don't go to college you're a failure in life many are pressured into it even though they have no idea what they actually want to do, and now they have a real problem on their hands.
