The EPA is a fucking shitshow and I'm glad he's cut their funding. Everyone is going apeshit about Trump gagging them and taking away their money, but nobody seems to remember a few months back when the EPA let a contaminated gold mine leak into the local water supply and poison the water for a bunch of native americans. Everything they do could be done more effectively and at a lower cost by a more well organised department and it's about time someone did something about it.

>not supervising and making sure it's spent responsibly
My ideal situation is that they get no money at all, but if it's going to be spent then I want it spent properly.

>>34420847
And doesn't stopping private goldmines from contaminating the water sound like something the EPA should be doing? Rather than having a go at contaminating it themselves. It's just more wasted government money.
>>
>>34420745
>but saying that it needs to be viewed by another department first to make sure it's not just more of the same.
That's called peer reviewing which is already a thing that doesn't involve government you colossal moron

and the administration can watch how they spend money and run their departments without controlling what research gets to be public information or not. you're a fucking idiot
>>
>>34420925
>not supervising and making sure it's spent responsibly

Fucking statist retards. Whenever a government starts expanding it's invariably for control. This is just a further example of that, it'll just lead to the suppression of data that isn't politically expedient.

>B...but I'm not a statist, see I want to have the whole department defunded. So what if I sound exactly like one.

>>34419872
I still can't believe you yanks actually did it, Donald Trump is your president. Some funny shit is gonna go down while that man is in office
>>
>>34421023
>am a research scientist
>have had papers peer reviewed
Thanks for explaining part of my job to me. I never said I don't think climate change is real. But if the scientific community at large is already heavily in support of the theory of climate change, why does the US government have to keep wasting money on it? I don't think Trump even gives a fuck about whether climate change is real or not, same as he doesn't really give a shit about abortion. What he's doing is stopping the federal government from haemorrhaging money through a poorly optimised department.
>>
>>34420588
But there's a reason why /pol/ has its own containment board
>>
>>34420925
Those mines are hundreds of years old and the waste seepage is impossible to stop. The best option is to merely contain. Plus there's this to contend with:

>The reason for the lack of action is the antiquated law, 143 years old and counting, that still governs hardrock mining on public lands throughout the West.
>President Ulysses S. Grant signed the 1872 Mining Law to help settle the West. And even though the West has surely been settled, this law is still on the books -- unchanged. It allows corporations, foreign and domestic, to take public minerals, owned by us, the taxpayers, for free. It contains no environmental provisions, requires no cleanup after mining is over, and unlike the law governing coal mining, does not require hardrock mining companies to pay a fee to clean up the legacy of pollution.
>>
>>34421028
Thinking that government money should be spent properly doesn't make me a statist you mongoloid, it makes me a pragmatist. I know that realistically we're not going to dismantle the entire US government during Trump's presidency, so I settle for tax dollars being spent sensibly instead.
>>
>>34421233

Toobeeonnest, there are so many government agencies that are intrinsically unconstitutional and therefore shouldn't exist in the first place, that this is hardly an issue, especially considering this one is as corrupt as almost every other one seems to be.

On its face, the EPA seems great. What fool wouldn't want an environmental protection agency, right? Until you realize that they're just yet another crooked alphabet soup agency at the moment.

Some agencies that should be immediately disbanded, (at the very least, be restructured entirely) but won't ever be, even (or especially by le supreme god emperor.

Bunch of fucken parasitical, taxpayer revenue-enveloping, opportunistic and avaricious incompetents who're almost all blatantly and bloatedly bureaucratized beyond all recognition and efficiency.

Trump is certainly bad, but he will be challenged on everything he tries to do, and likely will not win a second term. Hillary, on the other hand, would do most of the things Trump does that I object to (plus a shitload of other things I STRONGLY object to) , not do any of the things I approve of, be completely unopposed by the media/her supporters on all her regressive policies, and likely would still win a second term (assuming she wouldn't be deposed in a military coup, another likely scenario for a Hillary victory). Sure, Trump will be a disaster for 4 years, but he is giving the left and the establishment the shakeup it needs to get its shit together. Without that, we would just keep declining until the whole West is like Saudi Arabia: everyone but the ultra wealthy and their imported slave labor on very minimal welfare

Corporations don't have a vested interest in pure science and won't fund it, with very few exceptions. The epa is one of the only groups that performs real climate science in the country, with universities doing almost all of the rest. I wouldn't be surprised if he gags public university researchers soon as well.
How you can justify government censorship of scientific research is beyond me. He starts with climate change because it's controversial, and then what? Any science a ruling political party disagrees with is trashed. This is FUCKING AWFUL.

>helpless and stupid

Not the logic. Getting an ID costs money and takes time, even if it's not a driver's license, and neither of those things are in infinite supply for everyone. The main point is that it's another hurdle to jump before you can vote, when there's already plenty, and it's a hurdle that exists for literally no reason. In-person voter fraud doesn't even get attempted, as a threat to elections it can be dismissed out of hand, and the reasons why should be instantly apparent if you think about what in-person voter fraud would entail; getting a bunch of people and either driving them from poll to poll or having them drive themselves. How many extra votes could you get even if you made a massive conspiracy to do it? Not many, and not anywhere near what you could be getting with small conspiracies of hackers or just closing polls in areas that don't vote for you.

So voter ID laws are solutions in search of a problem, unless you consider that maybe the point is just to keep certain kinds of people from voting at all, in which case they're clearly wrong. There's not any worthwhile argument to run to here, voter ID laws are retarded.

Also worth noting is that the laws don't require that minorities get IDs to vote, it requires that people get IDs to vote. So when white Grandma heads in to vote and hasn't had a license in years and doesn't have a proper ID and doesn't have time to get one, she also loses her right to vote.

>>
>>34422199

Yeah, but liberals object to ID requirements because it means a few lazy niggers can't vote, not because the old white grandma who is too senile to renew her license can't vote. Minorities know how to get food stamps, they know how to get IDs too. And don't tell me election fraud is impossible after the left spent weeks autistically screeching about election fraud after they lost, even though they dismissed it as a non-issue before the election and are doing so again now that Trump is bringing the issue up.

Honestly if you can't dedicate a few dollars and a few hours once every decade or however long your state's licenses last to obtain/renew it, you shouldn't be allowed to determine the fate of the country. I'm willing to make a compromise though. IDs required in exchange for government subsidies to pay for IDs/licenses for poorfags. No excuses if the government will help you get your ID.

>the left spent weeks autistically screeching about election fraud

The left is worried about electronic voter fraud, which is something our electronic voting systems are extremely vulnerable to because the systems are, for the most part, really old and barely secured. There was even indication in the primaries that the Hillary team was using it against Bernie.

That's the difference between a real threat and a rationalization for disenfranchising citizens. There's actual danger of election fraud when it comes to electronics but there's no evidence to suggest that voter ID laws combat any kind of fraud, which again just makes them obvious voter suppression laws that nobody has any business defending.

The tripfag is right. Trump has hit his ceiling of support whereas nobody liked Hillary and decided not to vote, vote third party or even in some cases vote Trump, the people who liked Hillary thought she had in the bag and didn't vote, while Trump voters fought extra hard to close the gap. It didn't help that Dems already had eight years in government. Trump can't play the "winning but losing" underdog card anymore which was a key part of his persuasiveness. His cabinet and the people around him are just obnoxious and will be seen as the "establishment 2.0" by swing voters/independents. Not all of Trump's policies are bad I'll admit but his few good policies aren't going to get any extra votes and if the GOP gets rid of Obamacare and can't find a good replacement they're fucked. His promise to get back low skilled jobs for the rustbelt was a load of bullshit too.

Yeah bro. It's just a coincidence that 2014 was the hottest year ever. Then 2015 was the hottest year ever. Then 2016 was the hottest year ever. And that CO2 levels haven't been this high in 650,000 years.

Total bullshit!

>I want Trump to reorganize X government agency to be more conservative and efficient!

Heads up, conservatives in America want to reorganize government agencies to be non-existent. They just want to regress to there being fewer protections for consumers and plebs in general so that the 1% can make more money to stuff away overseas and never use. That's what the fucks running Congress right now are doing and that's what sockpuppet Trump will sign off on. He is a plutocrat, even if he genuinely cared about you at all he would think that is how he should help. He said in his 100-day plan that he wants two regulations repealed for every regulation that gets added; this is an insane statement. Did he mean that he wants to choose regulations at random to repeal if any new ones go on? Does he think regulation is like peanut butter, that it's all basically the same and you just spread more or less on the government? Does he not realize that regulations are specific rules for specific industries and have to be judged one by one if you want to be rational about them at all? Is fire code as up for repeal as not allowing minors to open beers?

All this talk about what Republicans are going to replace Obamacare with has been the most head-spinning shit ever. Who in the flying fuck legitimately thought that they ever wanted to replace it with anything? They want to repeal it and replace it with nothing, so we can go back to the old system of pre-existing condition people either dying or living under piles of medical debt, and the lucky ones being stuck in shit jobs they hate because they have to have the health plan. Did his dipshit voters actually think there was a plan to make sure they got taken care of?

If you think big government is bad, wait until you're getting even more of big business down your throat. At least government people worry about their legacy, big business is worried about literally nothing other than next quarter's figures.

Let me ask you something, if you search for the sources behind all of those sites screaming "conspiracy", do they all point back to the same exact source? I bet you they do.

Sites like that started popping up everywhere after the conspiracy stories started. It's not an uncommon tactic. It's being drummed up to generate revenue from people visiting the sites, it doesn't mean jack shit in terms of legitimacy. Every single time any kind of big story breaks, whether it's true or not, you see sites like this pop up trying to cash in on peoples' paranoia and hysteria.

The GOP is fucked on Obamacare. The thing people don't realize is that Obamacare made a bargain with healthcare providers. Stop ordering unnecessary tests, treatments, etc to cover for losses due to uninsured patients and we'll make sure that the uninsured population is fully covered. Now you might wonder what does this have to do with me? Most of the padding of bills was done to patients with employer provided insurance, because they knew patients wouldn't have to pay directly so they could get away with it. Of course, what ended up happening was employer provided group premiums went through the roof before Obamacare. Employers usually ended up having to kick in more or ask their employees to do so. It was a gigantic clusterfuck that was spiraling out of control. And it wasn't just the uninsured, it was also people who bought high deductible junk policies that are as worthless as so-called dental insurance due to absurdly low annual and lifetime benefit caps. A lot of employers started switching to those plans as a way of cutting costs. I have no love for healthcare providers, but somebody's got to pay the bills. Most Americans don't realize that Obamacare drastically reduced the increase in their employer provided insurance premiums compared to pre-Obamacare. The only ones who faced massive increase were individual plans, mostly due to the predictable readjustments necessary for an emerging market.
The result of gutting Obamacare will be a return to the previous status quo. Junk plans will be back as well as keeping anyone who even coughed the wrong way uninsured. The high risk pools are a joke, good luck affording even the shittiest coverage under them. But most significantly, healthcare providers will inevitably go back to soaking employer plan patients with garbage care in order to deal with the losses caused by the uninsured and underinsured. Which will raise premiums drastically for employer based plans over time. So more Americans get screwed.

The media still on full hate alert( the bias media is one of the reason I voted for him)

also the hypocritical left muh trump said he grab em by the pussy. Mean while hillary already defended a child rapist, also people harped on about trumps sexual assualt allegations, no one brought up hillary silencing rape victims when they came out against bill.

The womens march it self was a shame western women are only in it for themselves not. they dont give a shit that hillary got funded by saudi who locked a women in jail and lashed her for getting gang raped last year or about the rapes in india.

Additionally if the left continues this way they will become the "nazis" the are screeching about. heck in spain a women got beaten up by 1 women and 10 guys for "dressing like a right winger" The people said they didnt do anything wrong they beat up a nazi so its fine

Dehumanise any political opponent enough and it becomes easy to justify unprovoked acts of violence against them. Ironically enough some of them do to those with whom they disagree, precisely what they think that those they disagree with do to others. Don't you just loathe moral double standards, Anon? I do.

Not only did Clinton defend somebody who she herself (on tape) admitted to believing was guilty of exactly what she was trying to prevent him from being legally charged with, but her deceased mentor was also a former clansman or nazi (can't quite recall which) and nobody ever asked, much less demanded that she disavow him the way that they hassled Trump to denounce the clan because they had officially endorsed him or some silly shit.

They never even mentioned once that a man she spoke so fondly of after his death was directly connected to a group that she and other democrats regularly claim that republicans support or embolden by not being self-loathing the way many caucasian progressives often tend to be.

The madness of many amazes me. Real life is so surreal at times that it gets to be a tragicomedy. If there's a god, I'd hope that they'd see fit to deliver us from all this wickedness. It sickens me to my core. Goddamned opportunistic political parasites is all so many of them are. All my ire.
