Make sure you consume less junk and eat healthier, it makes shedding weight a lot easier. There's really no need to go to the gym aside from utilizing their equipment. If you're looking to lose weight, just start with walking at least 30 minutes to an hour a day, then work up to jogging, and finally running. Doing short bursts of sprints will get your heart racing and inevitably cause your metabolism to increase and you to lose / maintain weight when you get to that point. You'll more than likely be eating more to offset what you're burning.
