Alcohol makes people much more retarded over time than weed does. Weed users almost never abuse alcohol. This is because weed feels like alcohol, but is far superior and doesn't result in hangovers. Weed users tend not to abuse opiates as well because weed is a downer and a pain killer like opiates. Opiates make you dumber than weed does.

Why would you even bother to drink to excess when you can just smoke some more weed and feel fine in the morning? Why would you bother with abusing opiates when you are already smoking weed, have less pain, and feel fine? People who smoke weed tend to use just weed and nothing else, because weed produces, more than anything else, a feeling of contentment. It is the opposite of a gateway drug. It helps people to stop using other drugs, for those reasons, and because its effects counter common withdrawal symptoms such as agitation, headaches, and nausea.

So, even though you may well be correct in the absolute sense compared to using nothing, smoking weed all the time makes people smarter on average than the general population because it makes them far less likely to abuse alcohol, opiates, or other substances. I have seen people abuse all sorts of things over time. The weed users were always fine. The other substances always utterly destroyed their lives.

If someone becomes stupid because of weed, but avoids being even more stupid because of alcohol as a result, that person's weed use made them smarter than they would have been otherwise.

I don't know honestly. Coffee tar and sweat I'd guess but I don't think I have a strong scent.
