Alright, I'm now officialy diagnosed and prescribed SSRI's.

They just made me fat and lazy and made me "content" with my shitty life but dulled any ambition I had to fix it or do anything

Impotence is guaranteed, but whether they actually work depends on a variety of factors.

I had some hypomania episodes while on SSRIs which some professionals suggest is actually a sign that you're bipolar instead.

The hypomania episodes were great. I actually felt happy for once in my life.

Can't really comment on impotence. I'm a few years off them and masturbate at least twice a day because it's the only time I feel anything good.

For me, I got fat as shit but was never impotent. Once I got off I dropped the weight. They didn't help my depression much and being fat hurt more than the meds helped.
For a lot of people they help with depression at the cost of weight, impotence, or both. Already fat and a kiss less virgin? What's to lose?

OP don't do ssri they make u apathetic. you won't feel happy,but you won't feel sad either, it's more like you don't care about anything.All your motivation will be sucks dry. Not to mention all the other side effects. I would suggest trying welbutrin , it works on dopamine vs sertatoning. So it's a little like adderall, but not as extreme.

No, it's more like the things or hobbies you enjoy aren't as enjoyable and you won't have motivation to do said hobbies.At least with welbutrin you have motivation and energy. The only thing is you might be more anxious from time to time.I have improved my life and out look since being on welbutrin so it's helped me vs zoloft or effexor.

First two to four weeks you wont feel a thing.

What helped me immensely was to start talking with family no matter what kinda shit they done to me and writing any ideas, memories and opinions i had in my journal.

Am on the brink of getting a job after 7 long, long years as a useless neet.

Only family I have is my mother, and I'm reasonably close with her, and my father, who's even more beta than me.

Journal is a good idea though, I used to do that before my condition has gotten worse.
