You can last a lot longer than 2 months on 3k if you find someone to rent a room from. Depending on where you are or where you are willing to go (get a ticket to a uni town or the outskirts of a big city). Find someone to rent with online. You could last 4 - 6 months on $3k if you share a place with others.
