OP did you read that website called "The truth" or something? I don't remember what it was called but basically it was a contest on who could explain life the best or something. It's very old.

While I understand the idea of "We are what we experience; what we don't experience is skipped by our consciousness, so when we die we must skip to someplace else as we always do", this thought has a hole, and that is birth.

We have experienced absolute nothing, it is what we were before birth.

the experience after death and the experience before birth are the exact same thing, neither of those things are an experience, its just nothing.

Not if we genocide africa. Then I can't be reborn there.

You are distinct from me. You do not become anything when you die. There is no after death for the personality. You don't jump from body into body.

You argue the idea of universal consciousness, but this doesn't mean reincarnation. It means that when you remove the distinct features of you or me, what remains is what is indistinguishable between us, simply consciousness.

Of course even this idea can be argued against, since any consciousness is tied to distinct memories and brains. So if you removed all the distinct features there might be nothing left at all.

If the universe is infinitely big, it's almost certain that -you- will live again (it's 100% certain that there is another you living right now, but technically speaking that's not -you-). If the universe has a diameter of 1 googolplex meters, than it's still very likely that -you- will live again.

Read the website I linked, it does a good job at explaining this idea. I'll try to explain it with my own words, keep in mind that I read this long time ago.

You are your consciousness. What you don't see and don't feel aren't experienced by you and therefore isn't experienced by your consciousness. When you sleep, there is a "skip" in your consciousness, and so on. So your "consciousness" is just your experiences.
When you die, you will stop experiencing. It's not even "just black", it's literally nothing. It's you before your birth. But so far, every time you've experienced "nothing", you've come back. Sleeping, passing out, emerging out of your mothers vagina, so on. Your consciousness is an endless stream for you with "skips" that you don't experience. Therefore you can come to the conclusion that you are endless. When you die, no matter how much time passes, you will come back one day. The universe is large and has plenty of time. It's likely that somewhere else, some being will have your brain's electron configuration. You may lose your memory, but not your consciousness.
