i'm joining clubs and learning how to make friends, common interests really do help.

Sort of. There were people I liked and ate lunch with. We never really did anything outside of school though, and I couldn't really hold a conversation so I usually just sat around listening to them talk to each other. We did get along though so I'm happy I had that.
