So you don't love any of your partners before you get married. And incidentally sometimes you don't love your wife either.>>34307055
Good joke.
>>34307125
Fuck off back to /wiz/ autist.
>>34307125
shut up fag not like anyone ever loved you
>>34307036
The word you should be using is "unique" not "special", love isn't a feeling or emotion, it's an experience, and it's subjective.
While you are right that love is nothing like the way it is portrayed in the media, the fact is that love actually isn't a real thing, at least not romantic love anyway.

>When did you realize love isn't anywhere as special as media portrays it?
When I tried some MDMA.
>>34307696
The only drug I have done is xanax, I have legal access to it.
Is MDMA worth getting put on the list?
>>34307036
There is a huge difference between love and infatuation. Way too many people like you mistake infatuation for love which is causing way too many problems in society.
>>34307717
see
>>34307125
Or maybe your definition of love doesn't exist in the real world? As suggested by the overwhelming evidence.
>>34307715
Most definitely, especially if you're an autist like me. It makes you experience the happiness of a normalfag for a while.
>>34307125
>literally not knowing the difference between infatuation and love
Infatuation is what gets you together. Love is what keeps you together.
>>34307717
What's causing the problem is that in the past the marital contract was enforced, so you had to learn to be with someone even after the initial infatuation phase went away (or was never even there). Now you can just get divorced and move on.
>>34307771
The thing portrayed as "love" in media is just infatuation and I've never seen, heard or experienced your specific definition of love then.
>>34307036
I've only falling in love once in my entire life, but was too much of a pussy to tell her.
It hit me like lighting the very first second I saw her.
We were in the same class for years. Never talked, just a whole lot of gawking.
That was uhmm, 14 years ago, and I never felt like that again.
To my recollection love is magic. Maybe you're confusing love with something else. Or maybe it's just different from person to person.I hope she's well.

Not the anon you responded to, but actual love (in the context of marriage) is a mutual self-sacrificial devotion that is forged over years of practice and difficulty.
>>34307823
You were not in love
>>34307833
So actual love is even less special than infatuation since people have been doing it for centuries before divorce really became a thing.
>>34307823
Where did you find this picture of my wife?
>>34307848
Then enlighten me. What was I?
>>34307864
>So actual love is even less special than infatuation since people have been doing it for centuries before divorce really became a thing.
I don't know what you mean. Love, like the institution which develops it (marriage), is normal human activity. It is not "special" in the sense that you mean. But it has been rendered exceptionally difficult to achieve in our society. In the past you were basically just forced to work through the problems that came up because you couldn't pick up and leave.

I can imagine life with anyone attractive, the possibilities in theory are limitless. That cute girl with blonde hair, that other one with the nice legs. If their personalities are not too off, anything is possible.
Except nobody finds me attractive, and nobody has imagined their lives with me, but I dont care, success is everything. I have a gameplan.
>>34307901
Infatuated with her appearance and what you imagined her to be.
>>34307902
I'm glad we could come to a common ground and agree that love isn't what is taught to us through various media forms. And that actual love isn't nearly as desirable.
>>34307902
Also in the past marriage retained its hierarchical nature (husband above wife), which allowed issues to be resolved easier.
>>34307920Please let me just have it.
>>34307942
Yeah it's not what's in the media. As to whether it is desirable, I imagine that having a close companion to care for you and spend your life with is a desirable thing. I may never have it but I would be willing to sacrifice for it.
>>34307949
Now I feel bad desu
>>34307036
Love IS special, but you can love as many people as you want. And why shouldn't you?
