Start by reading Nietsche.

It's not what you think it is or what the normals think it is.

You also cant be one yourself.

It would be somewhat like what Kant says a saint is.
>>
>>34297830
Read Nietszche and apply what he says. But imo, like anything you can read in a book, it's great to get an inspiration out of it but you can't expect to achieve it.

I'd be like wanting to be like your favorite character in your favorite fiction.

>>
>>34297952

You may be depressed.

The only thing that lifted the burden for me was praying and suffering for a whole night.
>>
>>34297972

That crushing feeling doesnt have to do with the discovery of any "truth", but with your mood.

That second part is up to you, and I'd argue it is those who are known and remembered who are the most cursed ones.
>>
>>34298010
So how do I change that mood then
>>
>>34297990
Yeah.. maybe, I haven't got much to keep me happy either, my dogs and my Mum, and I'm very worried about her
>>
>>34297972
By making something that allows you to be remembered (like old authors ways in europe, achieving imortality in an indirect way)

Or by accepting that your existence is short, and that everything will disapear a day, like old authors in the east.

>>34297952
Find the core of the problem. Or try new things. But I think something is there, on a deeper level, and you have to find what it is by inspecting yourself (of finding a doctor)

>>
>>34297559
My very first, most vivid memory was a UFO sighting with my mom and sister.
I was four, my sister was six, and my mom was......thirty-something.
It was night, of course. Naturally.
We saw this light that looked a lot like a star.
Except it moved. It "swam" about. Like it was falling in the direction it was going.
It pulsed. Disappeared, reappeared. Grew, shrank.
Then it seemed like it was coming toward us, so I ran.

Our stories are exactly the same, and we still bring it up from time to time.

When I was twenty five, I took LSD.
I was by myself. It was amazing.
Previously during that day, I got my bass and snare drums stolen out of my car.
Obviously a very, very sad day.
I had A LOT more musical equipment in my car, like, thousands of dollars worth, but that's all the guy took.
So, I was kinda thankful........
I smoked a lot of weed then, and my dealers last mentioned they had acid.
I passed.
But that night, after having things stolen from me, I decided to buy a tab and take it.
Best decision I've ever made, even though I was terrified.
I felt almost prepared that I was going to lose my mind, permanently.
It's like I accepted it.

I honestly felt like the COMPLETE opposite happened.

The visuals were incredible, of course.
I stared at myself in the mirror.
Became my reflection.
Walked around a lot outside.
Walked around in the campus library.
>>

>>
>>34297559
>>34299240A few hours into it, I noticed this strange yellow light in the sky.
Bigger than a star or planet, but not by much.
It wasn't moving, but its glow was different.
I immediately thought back to my UFO experience.
I sat down, and meditated AT it.
I was doing the same thing when I was looking at myself in the mirror......meditating at myself.
Eyes open, though.
I realized that I could control the visuals in a strange way by flexing that "meditation muscle".
After focusing on this yellow light for a few minutes, meditating at it, it disappeared.
I was surprised, so I stopped my focus.
And then it reappeared.
I started crying.
I felt a connection, and that I was responsible completely for its blink.
Like it was "waving".

About a week later, I randomly met this guy who sold mushrooms.
I left my girlfriend's house, started walking downtown, in hopes of meeting someone who played music.
Like, three minutes into my walk, I saw this guy carrying a guitar case.
I startled him, one, because I was a stranger, and two, he was tripping on mushrooms.
I was interested in buying some, so I walked with him back to his apartment.
And when he opened his door, there in the living room were my fucking drums.
It was his friend who stole them and stashed them.
And I genuinely know he was telling the truth.
So I took mushrooms for the first time, free, that night and got my drums back.

A few weeks later, I took LSD again.
Again, I was by myself.
Mostly walked around.
Later, I laid down outside and started meditating.
Eyes open, closed, it didn't matter.
I felt like time stopped, and that I went somewhere else.
Everything went white.
When I "came back", I noticed three lights directly above me.
Pulsing, disappearing, reappearing, etc.

I've since then taken MORE LSD and mushroom, and tried ecstasy and DMT.
Ecstasy was amazing. Love, love, love, love, forever.
DMT was indescribable, but I now strangely feel less afraid of dying.

I'm white, blonde, green eyes, left handed.
I've slept with......somewhere between 60 and 70 girls, so I'm not ugly.
My IQ is around 150.
I was always one of the "smart kids" in school, making straight A's until sophomore year.
I almost didn't graduate high school.
I'm 27 now and only halfway through college.
My dad is helping me out with aviation training, I'm learning to fly.
I have an amazing, truly amazing girlfriend, miraculously.
She's blonde, green eyed, left handed, gorgeous.
She was the one who gave me ecstasy for the first time.
I confessed my love to her that night, and things have been golden for the past seven months.

I'm a HUGE conspiracy theorist.
Like.......I'm suggesting that, yes, we've been to the moon.
Probably sooner than they say.
We might have people up there, today.
.....but that moon landing footage is fake as fuck.

I feel extremely red pilled.
I think the Germans were the "good guys" during World War II.
And a fucking tragedy they didn't win.
I think the Jews are responsible for most of what's wrong in the world.

"They're" keeping technology from the public that could make everything easier.
Free energy, most importantly.
But probably anti-gravity, too.

Anyway, I'm massively depressed 24/7.
This girl makes me so happy.
I think of suicide daily.
Aviation is going to make me a lot of money in the end.
I feel that everyone is disconnected.
Personally, I feel connected.
I don't see the point in life.
I mean, I understand myself, but not everyone else.
The girl and I have had conversations about having kids.
But more so about, like.....would we even want to?
Because so much could go wrong.
And the state of the world.
We wouldn't want them to suffer at all.

>advice please?
>>
>>34299244
Why would I want to go anywhere? If Epicureanism is focused on freeing oneself from mental pain, fear of death, figures of authority and such, wouldn't ceasing to give a fuck about status or success be the logical conclusion? Besides, I haven't been on 4chan for two months before tonight. Quit taking shitposting seriously.
>>
>>34299253
What's the the main problem with Aristotle?
>>
If arrogance and bragging are an "excessive" sense of self worth or pide, how do you determine excessive objectively? Is it only subjective, can "excessive" only be perceived by each individual? What factors into their perception? Does a majority ruling of "this is subjectively excessive" determine it objectively excessive? If not, or if the majority say the opposite (it is not excessive), how do you resolve the individuals complaint of excessiveness? Or is it their own problem (responsibility) to resolve? Is their perception important (to those who are not them)?
Does this deem self-worth and/or pride a negative and something to be avoided because they can at any time (or "amount") be considered subjectively excessive by a person, if self-worth/pride are allowed to exist in any way? Does this mean to have no self worth is a positive trait; a virtue? What does having no self worth entail? Or does having no self worth have similar risks of subjective perceptions? Are there positives to having self worth and/or pride?

>>
>>34299340

>>
>>34299336

Excessive as in not virtuous.

Reason measures internal logic, it doesnt have to do with truth, hence your questions have no truthful answers, other than "yes, it makes sense" or "no, it doesnt make sense"

I think it's ok to brag. I take nice bragging pictures when I go to places, and I go so far as claiming I only went there for the picture.

I'm not a philosophy student. I just starting reading philosophy because i was interested in it.

After the fact, but also before i had some preconceptions of what i would like. I didn't like reading the pre-socratics for example as they're mostly natural philosophers. So despite the image i posted i'd just recommend starting with Plato (dialogues based around Socrates trial is a good start) and then just look at some philosophers/movements you might be interested in.
