They tuck it all away in it's own small section of most stores if they're big enough called "Greenwise".

They also have specified Greenwise Markets that are dedicated to stuff like that I think.

I know just about everything about Publix and it's history. I'm fucking obsessed with this company. AMA

Okay.
When you say that you're obsessed with the company, how do you mean?
In a negative way, like you've a vendetta against them because you worked for them, but they laid you off for some (il)legitimate reason(s), or you are/were or aren't/weren't employed by them and just really like shopping there, or you just know a lot of trivia to do with the company, or some other way I've not written here?
I thought it was interesting how enthusiastic you seem about it is all.
Also, is Publix like the east coast equivalent of Safeway/Wholefoods?
I ask because I'm sure neither exists on the opposite end of the country, though I may be wrong.
>>
>>34286810

I have some odd attraction towards it. been working there since 14. been customer service rep since 17.

I don't know, I don't shop anywhere else, and I've never left the south.
>>
>>34286834
Thanks, Anon. Although I am still curious about that other Anon's self proclaimed obsession with Publix, I suppose they're away at the moment, so I'll have to wait and hopefully not fall asleep if/before they answer my question, lol.
Anyways, do Floridians also have grocers like Lazy Acres, Sprouts, Fresh and Easy, and Winco?
>>
>>34287042
Oops, you just answered as I wrote that I was eagerly anticipating your answer to somebody else. Nice.
>>
>>34287042
Surely you must shop elsewhere for things other than groceries, unless they also carry household products, clothing and other things.
>>
>>34286998
Not really. We have strawberries and oranges, if you want those.
>>
>>34287059
I have never heard of any of those!
We have the forementioned places, plus Winn Dixie, Costco, Fresh Market, Albertsons, Aldi, super target, and lots more.
Plus many small grocers and farmers markets

but then it wouldn't be comparing it to Publix.

it'd be like trying to compare shopping at Best Buy/MicroCenter/Gamestop and shopping at Burger King/McDonalds/Wendys. You can't do one and not the other without alternatives.

To answer your question that wasn't a question, Publix DOES sells household products to an extent. We sell Bleach and Detergent and cleaning stuff like that, and while it is very limited, we also sell glassware, foilware, and silverware.

The only electronics we sell are batteries, and like, 3 different chargers and earbuds. Some stores that are closer to the beach, like mine, also sell sandals. Nothing big.

Most stores also have the rent-out vacuum service RugDoctor, but that isn't owned by or affiliated with Publix.

Were there ever any Borders bookstores in Florida, (they've been out of business since the beginning of this decade or so) and do you have Barnes & Noble bookstores and/or any other major bookstores besides maybe small independent ones?
Also, is Floridian weather really as hellishly hot and humid as it's often made out to be?

Maybe someone else can answer that one for me. Sorry.

>Also, is Floridian weather really as hellishly hot and humid as it's often made out to be?
Eh. To me, what makes Florida weather truly Floridian is how unstable it is. I once took the bus home from work one BEAUTIFUL afternoon and when I got off it felt like I needed to board Noah's Ark. And when the rain finished not more than 5 minutes later, the traffic slowed down because you now needed a boat to get on the boulevard.

>Also, is Floridian weather really as hellishly hot and humid as it's often made out to be?

but perhaps I should actually answer your question. I don't think so. Sure it'll get humid, but the heat isn't the problem here. People complain about everything in Florida.

Floridian's will complain that 65 F is cold as shit, and that 75 is hot as shit. Only when you're in between will they be satisfied, which is fucking never.

Same Anon that originally inquired here, felt the same about its closing. I spent so many countless hours of my childhood in bookstores and that one in particular along with the other I asked about. I didn't always go alone though, so it's really sad when I think back about those who used to go with me and how differently it was then, and how I'll unlikely ever see them, nor will it ever be the same sort of magical thing that it once was, and then I get somewhat sentimental.
I am become nostalgiafag, nostalgiafaggily nostalgiafagging about the good golden olden days.

Somehow I doubt that, but for whatever it's worth, there are almost always gorgeous girls at bookstores like B&N. In my anecdotal experience, that is. They're mostly with boyfriends/husbands and families though, so that reduces your chances from the outset. It's really surreal, actually, and I've been to many different ones all over the place. Luckily for me, I'm no muffhunter myself. Books and the like are intrinsically more interesting anyway.
