How do people pass university while playing video games or socializing?

How many classes are you taking, and what is your major? I have my masters at architecture and I had no free time in the last two years of my undergraduate. Freshmen and sophomore year was easy af, took 5 classes and got decent grades. The only time consuming part of it was the assigned readings. I honestly dying understand how anyone needs 8+ hours a day to do normal college work, I would have all my classes tuesdays and thursdays, and do all of my work on Wednesday. Other than a little reading before tests, thats was two years of college until they really started to ramp up the work.

Because most people in college are doing meme degrees like Communication or Business or any other non-STEM field.

quickly identify which classes you'll naturally do good at and which you'll suck at.
Unfortunately, the ones you suck at will need hard time to study and it's better to study with others in the same course (only if they actually study though and not waste your time) technically studying with others is socialising, team building, problem solving in a group, etc.

Now the good part is that some subjects are going to come naturally, quickly identifying these allows you to blow off some time and drink/party etc. Although you'll still need to cram for exams or put some time into project/assignment work.

Some people can't balance their social/party life and it'll take over and you'll flunk hard. What really could fuck you is starting a relationship and wasting time on that instead of studying.

There are more advanced topics like learning quick party recovery techniques so you don't blow the next day hungover, or learning some moderation (not exactly a college student's best asset)

And as always, surround yourself with smart or hard working people who are doing your course, their work ethic and smarts will rub off on you. Leech off the professors/aides for any exam hints, assignment help, (this is shifty) learn which excuses work for receiving extra time to do the work (Death in the family, medical emergency (detached retina or something). Sometimes you'll need proof, other times no, so figure it out.

Most gamers are naturals at comp science, mixed with mostly introverted personality types that succeed at college, so a lot of their classes aren't crippling.

Could be that you're a retard. Could also be that you're taking much harder or simply more classes than most people.

make sure you set yourself up for success, don't make shitty schedules and change classes for better professors/times
