I took a look at the Australian welfare budget for 2015
Assistance to the AGED = 58 billion
Assistance to families with dependents (ie Single mothers) = 35.5 billion
Assistance to people with disabilities = 28 billion
Assistance to unemployed and sick = 10.5 billion
So that 10.5 billion figure includes sick people, not just NEETs, so the true cost of NEETs extremely low compared to other sources of welfare.
