Should I feel bad about being circumcised? I recognize and agree with the intellectual argument for why it should not be allowed but I still can't care that it was done on me.

Is this why it continues to persist in our society today?

Of course. I support the ban of circumcisions for individuals under the age of 18.

But I think its not a big issue for men in America because besides it being covered by media there's just no way to get upset about it when you have nothing to compare it to

That seems about right. They don't know what having a foreskin is like, so as far as they're concerned they're not missing anything.
