I played 3 immediately after finishing nv for the first time. People didn't joke about the atmosphere being good but after a few hours of playing, I can see that the quests usually only had less than 3 endings and a lot of things didn't make much sense. I think Broken Steel is probably THE WORST fucking thing to happen to Fallout 3. It would've been fine if you really just died in the end because it would've been a great "full-circle" moment when you realize that your entire family died for something greater than yourselves and being a martyr etc etc. I love Point Lookout and The Pitt, too.

I feel bad cause Fallout (4, then 3, then NV) is all I've played over the past year. There's just so much to do. I finished 3 and NV but I fucked up by pretty much doing the main story line for both with very few side quests so I thought 4 was better. But I've started 3 again and I'm enjoying it the way people say they do so I can't wait to start NV again. I feel like I've just scratched the surface. IMO f3 was a lot more realistic with the bare minimum human settlement thing, it actually felt like the war happened 200 years ago. NV has wayyyyy too many factions and settlements, which felt as if the game was much into the future at the point when humanity seemed to be building itself up

Plus fallout 3 had that depressing landscape with depressing background music. Truly blissful

Probably one of my favorite games. I got it on PC but haven't really got to play it though. I tried modding and it didn't work, after many tries I gave up.

At some point I do want to do a vanilla playthrough though, for ToTW, as an ultimate Fallout experience playthrough. I'm waiting for probably the next release to do it, the more stable the better.

Doing the ending eith Yes Man was one of the most memorable game experiences I've had. His odd, passive-aggresive nature was hilarious and being a renegade who took New Vegas for himself was amazing in my opinion.

It had far more player choice and far better writing. It's far better as an RPG than Fallout 3 and 4, and it was a side-project developed in just two years on an outdated engine.

Bethesda are a joke. They're only good at making sandboxes. Otherwise their games are buggy messes which are becoming more and more streamlined. Fallout 4 barely qualifies as an RPG.

I loved this game so much. Put over 500 hours into it.

Quit 3 after about 15.

I loved how nuanced this game is with choices. I loved the political tension between all of the groups in this game. I also loved that anything you do is going to piss someone off and that ultimately, not everyone could have their way. It truly felt like a living, breathing ecosystem.

Comparing this to 3, it was black and white, the world was just a soul crushing, but without the humor

I never played 4 and think i never will, i am burnt out on bethesda rpgs.

I haven't touched Fallout New Vegas since it's first release and I played the hell out of it.

Do you guys have any recommended mods to make the game refreshing and/or exciting again? That weird feeling of mystery or fear of the unknown.

Fallout 3 GOTY was a blast, definetly my favorite game of the series.

I learned to lockpick and amateur radio because of this game. I go camping alone just to pretend to be the lone survivor of a cataclysmic event.
What I loved most about the game was the landscape: barren, lonely, with ghosts of a past that no longer matters. It felt like my psyche was turned into a map of a desert.
I want to explore the world with that eye - that of a gondolesque wanderer.

Eh, I liked FONV but I liked FO3 too. FO4 is somehow empty. There's no atmosphere, it's weird. It feels fake and not immersive at all.

Because it was written and made by people who know how to write and make an intricate world that involves the player. Just look at the comments made by Todd and someone like Sawyer. They have really different philosophies on how to make games and it shows in a pretty stark contrast. New Vegas is the better of them.
