Leaving California was the best decision of my life. I have lots of friends there who make more than I do but have a lower quality of life due to the exorbitant living expenses, plus they are surrounded by coloreds and liberals. Flyover country is the white man's clay.

Write down your budget and dont be afraid to shop around at smaller non-box stores, like those that sell used goods or manage overstock/buyout items. Buy food items in bulk if the price per individual unit is more expensive. Buy material goods on clearance. If the cost of living is extremely high, budget your savings so that you can move whenever your lease is up. Also you can use the box/bag method to turn a potato or two into a hundred pounds of potatos.
