They're the work of men, altered over centuries to fit the needs of other men. And the irony here being men in all three texts are considered imperfect. At best the texts are lies that are sometimes used for good. At worst, you get the root of many bad things that have happened.

Religious groups and organizations who genuinely mean well and help out their local communities are another thing entirely however.
