Anyone else here live with poor parents?

>parents don't cook or clean just work
>I've been out of a commission from an injury and haven't been able to cook or clean
>we run out of food a lot and don't have variety because my parents became alcoholics recently
>have 3 cats the house smells like cat piss
>I've been cleaning the best I can but the sink is full of dishes and sucks
>there's leaks in all the ceilings
>the bathroom has cobwebs all over and a ton of shit I don't know how to clean
>carpets are ripped up
>there's nothing I can do besides get a job and stay in this shit hole place in a cheap apartment
>>
>>34134196
That suck dude, I'm sorry. I had a similar experience, only my parents started out doing very well and then things just fell apart. I'm guessing that you're not getting replies because everyone on r9k is too concerned with virgin-hood and such.

Anyway, hang in there.

>I've been out of a commission from an injury and haven't been able to cook or clean
>we run out of food a lot and don't have variety because my parents became alcoholics recently
>have 3 cats the house smells like cat piss
That's a rough situation. I'm sorry that you've got to live like that.

>I've been cleaning the best I can but the sink is full of dishes and sucks
Start with the dishes?

>there's leaks in all the ceilings
Not much you can do there except put down some buckets I guess.

>the bathroom has cobwebs all over and a ton of shit I don't know how to clean
You have the internet, there should be nothing in that house you can't figure out how to clean.

>carpets are ripped up
I'd say buy some cheap rugs from a thrift store, but it sounds like food is the bigger concern.

>there's nothing I can do besides get a job and stay in this shit hole place in a cheap apartment
Poverty is an insidious trap, like quicksand. All I can say is to do your best and try to save up some money, maybe see if you qualify for government assistance of some kind, at least food stamps or something. Don't do anything like take a payday loan because those things will bury you in debt faster than you can blink.

Situations like yours make it seem outright unethical that we don't have a universal basic income of some kind, like some multi-billionaire really needs his 5th yacht while you're stuck in this hellhole.

Stay strong, OP. Don't give up hope for a better life. You can pull yourself out of this pit with perseverance, resourcefulness, and a bit of luck.
>>
>>34134847
The worst part is my parents make money but have tons of debt and frivolous spending so we don't qualify for any assistance.

I can go to school tuition free cause my mom works for a college so I might take out a loan and move somewhere to get an apartment and a job and use public transit and take classes on the side.
>>
>>34134910
Good call. Get out of that miserable situation. It's just going to pull you down and sap your motivation. It's easy to despair and feel daunted when there's so much wrong and you don't know where to begin, which is probably why your parents turn to their habits of impulsivity and instant gratification, but if you can overcome that feeling and start taking steps to better yourself, you'll get yourself out of there and some place better. You've got a solid plan, and I wish you luck with it.
>>
>>34134969
Thx man I'm just scared of going into debt and moving far away I always see myself just dying here and being not in debt would at least make it easy to accept fate and just play video games in bed all day thoigh
>>
>>34134196
>can't get a job anywhere
>no vehicle of my own and live in the country = fucked
>live in run down trailer
>imagine living in fallout

I fucking hate my life. If I don't get a job soon i'm going to literally kill myself. And you know what? no one gives a fuck. No one gave a fuck about me as a kid getting an education, going to college, getting a job or anything. No one gives a shit that i'm struggling to find work now.

And your parents are supposed to care. They are supposed to encourage and help you. But no. No one gives a shit.

So fuck everything.
>>
>>34135134
I feel you man I'm in the same situation how bad is your trailer? I'm thinking of running away to the city to be a music producer and if that doesn't pan out st least I'll have the bus and I can be a shitty bartender or something. People are so poor here they call teachers rich.
>>
>>34135225
The electrical sockets are dying all over the trailer. I think maybe as many as four or five work in the whole place.

This thing has been around since the 80's at least, floors falling through in some places. The only decent room in the house is mine which I keep clean and organized but having to walk through this dark dank dungeon to squeeze out of the broken front door all the time sucks.

And yeah, I thought of saving up a bunch of cash and take a train from here in Florida to New York and see what happens. If I die I die or maybe I make it. Who knows.

You now it's less than a hundred bucks to go from Jacksonville Florida to New York? shits crazy.
>>
>>34135086
It's a gamble, true, but it's a gamble on yourself: on your determination and your ability. That may be a heavy burden to bear, but surely it's better than lying around in misery with nothing to look forward to but your eventual demise. Worst case scenario you fail and you're right back where you started, I guess with the added annoyance of dodging calls from creditors. Best case scenario you show the world and yourself what you're made of and you get a life you can find pride and contentment in.
>>
>>34135298
I'd say go west, some place like San Diego where the weather's always nice. Don't want to risk being homeless in NYC and freezing to death, although maybe they have a lot of shelters there for all I know. I think California's pretty generous with their welfare and social programs, though.
>>
>>34135298
Go man you won't die
>>
>>34135329
What about la or a town near it
>>
>>34135329
Thought about that too.

>>34135335
I don't care either way. I just don't want to die in this dump.
>>
>>34134847
>Not much you can do there except put down some buckets I guess.
How about repairing the roof? Get some cheap fiber cement and it's all fine again.
>>
>>34135298
>You now it's less than a hundred bucks to go from Jacksonville Florida to New York?

How do you figure that?

A hundred bucks won't even buy enough gas to cross one single state lmao.
>>
>>34135366
Greyhound is pretty cheap man
>>
>>34135366
I looked up Amtracks website. I'm surprised train travel is still a thing and so cheap.
>>
>>34135351
I'm not sure. If you're considering it I'd probably try to find a forum where people talk about their experiences being homeless and, crucially, getting out of homelessness. That should point you toward some places with good opportunities.
>>
>>34135371
I took a greyhound bus from NY to Michigan once and the ticket was around $240.

It's not that cheap.
>>
>>34135387
But I already know a few places I want to go
>>
>>34135420
Are they good places to be homeless, though?
>>
>>34135428
We'll it's where everyone else is homeless and I prefer places with no snow
>>
>>34134196

Kick the cats out. That's the first painful thing you need to do.

(find an alleyway)

>Living in trailer
I feel you there. Parked this trailer on my land less than 10 years ago. Since then my floors have been falling apart. Out of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms the only place that there's not a hole in the floor is the small bathroom.
I've been slowly fixing them since I have alot of free time but every time I start, something else comes up. Sometimes I just want to build a little cabin with just enough room for a bed and my other shit.
But don't worry guys were gonna make it.
>>
>>34135510
>Sometimes I just want to build a little cabin with just enough room for a bed and my other shit.
Why don't you do that? If you want I can get you some decent floor plans for tiny cabins.
>>
>>34135298
Shit. I didn't even read that before I posted this>>34135510
Sounds like we're in the same shitty leaking boat
>>
>>34135539
I'm already in the planning process. When my brother gets his tax returns he's getting the shit I need to fix his house on the other side of our property. The whole north wall of his place is fucked and he's been living in a cabin that he bought and moved here.
All this shit would be done by now if the land was paid off. Still a couple of years to go on that though. Right now I'm just doing my best to keep nature from taking back this 10 acres of sand and weeds.
It's really cool to know that someone would bother with helping like that. I'll check out whatever links you can find
>>
>>34135621
>I'll check out whatever links you can find
No links, sorry. I have a couple of books with floor plans, they are called Compact Houses and Compact Cabins. They go from 136 sq. ft. up to 1,400 sq. ft.

I'll just take a few photos and post them here.
>>
>>34135621
>>34135658
Now I feel like a tool. My phone is dead and won't let me take any pictures. I doubt this thread will last long enough for it to recharge, I am sorry.
>>
>>34135752
Dont worry about it man. I'll just try to find some PDFs of the books you mentioned.
At least get myself pointed in the right direction. I've already found a guy that's going to help me that's building his own house. He's working for peanuts too. He's really /out/ like me so it's not going to be super weird having a normie around. I'll actually have a hunting buddy during winter for once.

This really pisses me off. OP has no sense whatsoever that he is old enough to use a fucking broom to sweep away cobwebs. Cobwebs dont build up overnight you fucking loser. You have been sitting in your trailer being a pussy all this time, looking at growing cobwebs and whining about your parents. FUCKING LOSER! You generation is so buttfucked helpless it is ridiculous. You stare at dishes in the sink and wonder why the Dish fairy skipped your house. YOU FUCKING LEECH! GET OFF YOUR LAZY BABY ASS AND HELP YOUR GODDAMNED FAMILY! God I hope they fucking cut you up in your sleep and feed you to the cats who are actually innocent and need caretakers. You dont need caretakers. You need your head busted up by an angry fathers frustrated fist. You are a fucking disappointment. Lazy gaming shit. Sell your fucking games and buy some groceries for your FAMILY. help out around the house you freeloading faggot. Nobody owes you anything you piece of pampered shit. All this time you have just sat there in filth and not lifted a damn finger. You are a bigger problem than your parents ever were and you are why they dont have anything in life. raising you took all their money you stupid niggerfaggotscrub.

>not having a car is essentially a death sentence since public transportation doesn't exist outside of huge cities
>government assistance is harder to obtain than an ivy league scholarship
>job searching can last months
>homeless shelters get shut down weekly because rich people feel more comfortable with dead frozen homeless corpses than them walking around the sidewalks

m-make america great again right?

im starting to realize america wasn't that great to begin with

this place is a hellhole with more similarities to a third world country than a first world one
>>
>>34136345
This motherfucker is too lazy to sweep away cobwebs and you are showing him floor plans. Unless you are going to build it for him, and take breaks to make his lunches for him each day, you are wasting your time.
>>
>>34136363
>im starting to realize america wasn't that great to begin with
A right to pursue happiness doesn't imply that it will always be found in the end.
>>
>>34136389
You're right. It implies something even more sinister: that happiness exists.
