I will add something to this, I don't believe you need to leave /r9k/, just don't engage in the behaviors typical of people here. This includes:

Cutting down on these things has done wonders for me. I still am essentially socially inactive (have like 2 friends I'll do things with when they're in town), but the more I cut back on these things, the more I feel comfortable in my own skin and around others. It's also led to me exploring new subjects and interests, leading to me becoming a little less of an uninteresting piece of trash.

it won't damage it in the long run but you will definitely have cognitive effects when you aren't sleeping. can you not sleep or are you staying up by yourself? Reading won't help with cognitive effects of no sleep, sleep will help. drug yourself and get sleep and things will improve.
