Does anyone here actually /readforpleasure/?
Sure, you've all been exposed to the Harold Shipman meme, but will you go beyond a few daily mail articles and shitposting?
That seems to be the issue with robots. Their ostracism from regular society forces them to take refuge online, where they will perhaps expose themselves to different things normally not attainable through living a 'normie' life. However, they're normally too lazy to go beyond that and improve themselves intellectually.
I read for pleasure and nothing about it "improves myself", it's literally just escapism like video games and anime.

I been trying to read this lately. Fun shit, even if the joke of "normal shit but suddenly not-normal shit" gets a little stale after a while.

That's only if you read for entertainment. If you read for art, for learning, then it is way beyond any other form of entertainment or escapism
Read the "good" books (highly subjective, but still evident in most cases). Read for poetry. Read books that show you a piece of the human condition, of the human struggle.
If you read shitty fantasy books then they are indeed nothing above escapism and entertainment.

I've decided to start reading a book a fortnight. Spreadsheet in pic. I'm ahead and have started Starman early.
I can't stand novels anymore. I'm such a slow reader that I need to learn something otherwise it feels like a waste of time.

I had to check to see if that wasn't an image I posted once.
I actually got that exact book from secret santa last month, were you the other guy there mentioning you might buy it too?
Anyway, I've just finished chapter 3 last night. Made me chuckle how that mentioned he was lonely and sexually frustrated, he's certainly /ourdoctor/
