I haven't worked much earlier, but I got an internship during my master which landed me a part time job at a media agency where I'm currently working during my studies. And I'm in the humanities

And yeah, what you mentioned is my plan. I'm trying to apply for graduate school, so that I can start this summer. The real reason I want to start is that it becomes much easier to get an internship if I'm in school. I had two internships in undergraduate, for example. None of them led me to a job, though.

Nope. 26, graduated from a top US university with a great GPA and a good degree. Had no professional connections so I hardly ever got interviews.

When I was 24 I got my first interview all year and it turned out to be a prank reality show that was sourcing pathetic, desperate for work victims through job boards. Totally fucked me up and I didn't apply anywhere for 6+ months.

Took a shitty job at a cash register (went through the same shit as you re: over-qualification). It was horrible and I lasted almost 2 years before I had to quit. I was being sexually harassed (I'm male and never understood why this was such a big deal in the workplace until it happened to me).

Decided to go study software programming, got pretty good at it. Started winning hackathons which meant I had a little money. Parents were getting very psyched on it, decided to help me rent an apartment in the city so I could make much needed connections in the tech world.

Nothing worked out. When I felt I was job ready all of a sudden it seemed like every day there was a new article saying "Why we should stop hiring white men in tech." It's a year later, I'm almost 27 and I want to fucking die. I'm not a virgin, but I haven't had sex in 7 years and I forgot what it feels like. I've basically given up on trying to make a life for myself, I spend most days in bed. Sometimes I smoke pot or play PS4, but usually I just lay in bed on my laptop. I've already missed a crucial 5 year period when I'm supposed to form my professional identity / find mentors to help guide me through my career. My life is over before it began.

There was just new contract offered for us newcomers and as I was signing I was told it was easy picking for whom to offer the contract since I'm dependable, learn quick and got good working morale.
I know it is not much since its pretty basic factory job but considering I got pretty much no background to show in form of fancy diplomas while beating other newcomers I am more than happy in this situation.

There's no factories where you work? I work in a tire factory (Michelin) and plenty of people there have degrees, helps them get 7-3 day jobs there after a bit instead of 12 hour shift rotations. Good benefits plus free 3 sets of tires that refill every 3 years.
