Is it that /pol/ is spreading, or is it that normie social and political discourse has become very focused on race, resulting in people becoming frustrated with their race being denigrated, or just frustrated with hearing minority sob stories all the time, and they voice their frustrations on an anonymous website?

Nobody on /pol/ goes solely to /pol/. They're all crossboarders.

It's only natural the other boards will have a bit of /pol/ in them.

/pol/ in the past year was similar to /b/ back in the day, when it was fun and funny and not full of shit.

I think it's this actually. I'm in Uni currently and you literally cannot avoid having some sort of social justice talk shilled into you if you're taking a humanities course. I personally even spoke out against it to my college writing professor saying I was bored of having to constantly talk about feminism etc in all of my classes and she responded with "well that's what's happening in the real world currently why not talk about it"

So I don't doubt that it may also be a response to the massive SJW presence outside of 4chan.

only thing I've found is as I've """matured""" the boards I browse have changed. /b/ is the same as it was years ago, as are /lit/ and /tv/. they might cycle through different topics but the users are the same. the boards attract the same types of people. nothing has changed at it's core, even if it seems everything is different from how you remember it. you have to view this shit detached from personal belief, ego, identity etc. if you don't you'll find yourself in a perpetual cycle of anger, confusion and a smug superiority with no base.
