It feels like everyone is living inside his/her own bubble, you can't even ask a young person what time it is without getting a nervous reaction and the impression that you're interrupting him, breaking his own little bubble. It's basically an epidemic of autism.

I'm at uni as well and I've lost all hope. Grew up in a very conservative household, taught to be extremely polite and respectful. You get the idea. It turned out that the vast majority still didn't/never will grow out of the teenage mindset, my colleagues are a bunch of overgrown degenerate kids. It is both sad and terrifying and I'm genuinely worried what will become of this society in 20 years, this can't go on for much longer.
