>buddy says I'm invited to his new years party back in November and mentions this several times throughout the month
>get nervous but also excited at the prospect of going to a gathering like this for the first time in my life
>a few weeks before the 1st he tells me it's been cancelled
>alright, shit happens
>fast forward to today
>our conversation derails into the topic of what happened at the beginning of the year
>he mentions how he had a total blast at the party he hosted
Why does this happen? I cannot blame him for not wanting me there, but then what was the point of making it seem like he did for a period of time? I don't think I've said or done anything that could've made him change his mind. I'm used to spending holidays alone and wouldn't have minded it under any other circumstances, but he's my only real life friend and I enjoy his company a lot. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to going ever since the topic was first brought up.
Anyone who treats you like that isn't a friend
I'm sorry for what this asshole did, robot. He truly isn't your friend.
i hope you blew up at him and called him every name you could think of

>Why does this happen?
Only he can answer that. As shitty as it will be, if it's something eating at you, just ask him why he did it
>Enjoying the company of people
That's gay, anon. You're gay.
he has little power in his life and felt like dick teasing you would give him a feeling of control
this is the type of person that kicks dogs when no one is looking, a real jerk
Ask him what happened, if he gives some bullshit response, just drop him.
