>mention to mom if you had a home gym you wouldn't need to keep asking her for rides to the gym and you would actually be able to go more than once a month because it would be available 24/7
>she says "Maybe I can help" and a few hours later hands you a piece of paper showing that she's had a bank account set up for you for years with $1000 in it for a situation like this
I'm in tears bros. She's been putting money into this account little by little ever since I became a NEET 4 years ago and because of her I might actually just be able to fix some of my insecurities.

Be a good boy and suck her dick tonight. You know she deserves it.
>>
>>34024624
You only need a power tower. That is 200 bucks. Maybe an exercise bike. That's a other 200 bucks. Do not throw away the whole 1000.
>>
Why would you want to go to the gym? Do you plan on getting a woman? Have you not learnt anything?
>>
>>34024624
It would be pretty funny if you just spent that money on porn and video games
>>
>>34024717
I don't want to look like I'm 15 anymore and I want to be stronger
>>
OP if you have the floor space I reccomend the following:

- Powercage
- Olympic barbell and weight plates
- Bench

That's it.
>>
Also I want to be stronger than my dad so I won't feel like a beta around him anymore
>>
>treadmill and bike for cardio
>or just fucking run outside
>cheap resistance bands for muscular workouts
>use bodyweight for the rest (pushups, pullups, crunches, lunges, planks... etc)

you don't need a home gym, it's a waste of money
>>
>>34024624
Someone loving me that much might inspire me to stop being a complete peoce of shit, if only for them. But then again I'm a normalfag.
>>
>>34024687
>Implying $1000 is more than you need for a home gym
Do you even lift? Equipment is SUPER expensive
>>
Anon, listen to me. Forget the squat racks for a moment. Put the money towards a car and driving lessons.

If you spend it on weights and power racks you'll might fix your body but when you pull a hot girl with your new found abs are you still going to call your mom to give her a lift home.

With a car you'll gain independence. You'll still have access to your existing gym which you can now visit as much as you like. But also be able to access other opportunities to develop and grow yourself. Jobs, clubs, societies, social events etc.
>>
>>34024860
no he doesn't obviously

just a meme exerciser who thinks bodyweight exercises are worth anything
>>
>>34024687
>not getting an actual bike for half the price
>>
You have been given a beautiful gift. Spend it on exactly what your mom gave it to you for.

Buy a bench, squat rack, 200-300lb of weights a barbell (5ft is fine for a homegym) and a pair of dumbells (16 inch). Then pump that iron!

If you spend it on anything else you'll hurt your moms feelings.
>>
>>34024914
She actually did say it was for driving lessons and getting a GED so maybe I'll think about that. I don't have any interest in "pulling girls" or going to job interviews and all that other shit.
>>
>>34025217
THEN GET THOSE DRIVING LESSONS YOU NIGGER
>>
So she put in 5$ a week, how impressive.

To to be an ass, but how poor are you.
>>
You DO NOT need $1000 for an effective home gym set up unless you're buying brand new olympic level kit, which your hopefully frugal NEET ass should not be.
>>
>>34024687
>power tower
SHIT TIER ADVICE

OP, GET A BAR AND A MULTI-USE RACK WITH DEADLIFTING BUMPER PLATES. You can bench press, military press, deadlift, and squat all with one rack. This will only cost you about 600 dollars in total. Keep the rest of it for later in case you need more equipment to complement your workout.

My coach always said, other exercises are great and good to implement into your workout routine, but at the end of the day, all you really need is a good bar.
>>
>>34024914

if he's neet there's no way he can afford to maintain an $800 car, let alone put gas in it
>>
>>34024624
spend it all on booze my man
>>
>>34025217

Get those, way more important for your future than a gym

You can get cut in your 30s if you want, those are top priority
>>
>>34024624
>$1000
Do NEETs think that this is a lot of money?
>>
>>34025634
THIS

Compounds are so fucking important
>>
>>34024624

You better appreciate your mother like crazy for that.

Do not let it go to waste OP.
>>
>wasting that money on gym equipment instead of something practical

"I've got no job, no car and no qualifications, but at least I'm able to lift heavy objects!"
>>
>>34024717

classic example of crab mentality

not wanting someone else to improve just so it doesn't become more obvious how much of a piece of shit you are
>>
>>34025634
This

Powerrack + bench + decent barbell + (used) weights

You want a good quality rack and barbell, but you can buy used weights, check craiglist and shit.
Also, read up on recommendations.

At the end of the day, the big 3 (squat, deadlift, bench) is all you need. Start a solid 5_5 program.

Don't forget to thank your mum, I wish I could thank mine, but she is dead.
>>
>>34024624

>not buying 1000 worth of chicken tendies
>>
>>34025079
>just a meme exerciser who thinks bodyweight exercises are worth anythin

You sorry, ignorant mortal.
Calisthenics 4 life.
>>
don't go overboard to begin with. just buy 100kg used oly pl8s and adjustable db handles or barbell. there are enough exercises you can do without the rack and bench.

zercher squat, diddly, floor press, rows, weighted push ups. these can keep you going a long time.
