420chan's /qq/ is closer to /r9k/ as it was than /r9k/ now. genuinely interesting threads there. expect it as one of the chan sites to grow exponentially if 4chan literally goes down.
and there's more to come anyway, expect most sites to be more-or-less spammed with people trying to completely copy 4chan as it was.

i follow martin very closely, he was never interested in buying it. he just wanted some cheap publicity, since he is "an evil man" and 4chan is "an evil website".
i think he would have been a good fit though.
